01/11/2025 The Hawk Watch was interesting and educational. The research staff, handlers and staff are knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife conservation. At the time of the event there were hawks and turkey vultures flying in the area, that was cool to watch. The kids were enjoying holding and petting different types of snakes. I had an awesome experience holding the rosy boa snake and got myself a cool shirt with birds print on it. Come & enjoy. Highly recommend!
01/18/2025 another fun day at Hawk Watch. The opossum is so cute, her fur is so soft.

Been coming to HawkWatch for many seasons. I've brought many people to this, program, too. (I even brought a couple Master Falconer's to the program.) I also brought a cameraman from CBS8. (He was really impressed with the optics that people had. Go figure.)

A group of us went to Wildlife Research Institute while camping in the area. What a great event to go to - Hawk Watch. They had Red-Tailed Hawks, Owls, and other birds of prey.

At the same time there were more eagles, hawks, and turkey vultures flying in the area!

Lots of information and views of the birds of prey in the Ramona Grasslands.

The institute put on a great day at the Hawk watch in Ramona. These birds of prey are beautiful. WRI is doing good work to save their habitat. Saw a pair of nesting bald eagles in the tops of trees in the preserve.

Amazing, incredibly informative hawk and owl talk. Word of mouth is making this more and more popular because you get a chance to see some rescued birds up close. They also set up telescopes so you can see the native and migrating raptors.

Raptor ambassadors and their handlers teach the public about their species, habitat, and prevalence in the local area. Fantastic free opportunity for all ages to learn and see. Donations support the facility and their conservation projects. Ample parking in a short grassy field. Wear comfortable shoes and consider bringing a chair. We will be back next year for the Hawk Watch!
