Pleasant stay, spectacular views of the Sierras and White Mountains. A few small volcanoes can also be seen to the south.

Fun for family or to see views..10000 ft is a sight to see..stay till the sun goes down, a view to awe!!.. Over. Only in inyo county, white mtn bristle cone Forrest. West guard pass just on top turn north. Just feel the nature around you.

As a child I use to bike out there & talk about their research. Seems it was mostly weather related & had nothing to do with NASA & the Barcroft research facility on White Mountain, lol. Later in life I worked for the Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District & one of our monitoring stations was located there. So I had another opportunity to visit on a regular basis. Now, 30 years later I come home & see the wonderful changes & feel great. And I hate change! Lol!

Stayed for 3.5 weeks to do geologic research. Staff was really nice, the food was amazing. Would come back if invited.

I've never been to Bishop, never been so far North in California before but this was definitely an experience I enjoyed in a short span of time
