Full service grocery store including bakery, hot, cold and pre-packaged meals. Be sure to check the hot to go meals including chicken, pot pies, and meat loaf before purchase. I have found that these three items are often left on the warmer to long and are often very dry.

Usually go here for $5 Friday..
Prices are a little steep for my everyday purchases unless it's on sale.
Went a few days ago, and no eggs.

Always shorthanded with the checkers. I got there at 6:30 AM to get in and out quickly but once again they had only 1 checker and a line of people waiting to check out that was 7+ people long. The checker had only 1 speed, extra slow. The Deli is a constant and never-ending problem of extreme slowness. You wait for someone to serve you when they are not busy then they move painfully slow. I've actually placed my order at the deli, left and did half my other shopping and came back and they still weren't done. The real kicker is when you walk around the store you see several workers in BS sessions, looking into their cell phones etc. To be fair not everyone is this way here, but enough to make you dread going to Vons. We need other options in the area.

Overall good. Short staff as usual at check out. Everytime going to service desk for services just to get the right person and always have to ask takes awhile.

We got to the pick up window of the Pharmacy and the Pharmacist just staring at the computer the Tech lady she keeps on putting away items , knows we are there and they continue to just ignore us like we don’t exist . Not even tell u hi , we’ll be right with you . And when the Pharmacy Tech lady finally decided to go to the order window. She didn’t say any word just ask for ur name and date of birth . You can tell she’s in a foul mood about because I didn’t even have a chance to place my phone number at the keypad for rewards and stuffs when I was ready to insert pay from my credit card . Called the pharm. to go over my medications , pharmacist a bit friendly but the Pharmacy Tech. is unbelievably unfriendly and rude . After she hand u ur bag of medications no thanks , good bye ! Uncomfortable, discriminated ?!
We’ll just transfer back to Von’s San Luis !

I had an exceptionally dismal experience at Vons market this morning and I will never return and I suggest, that if you support veterans in their time of hardship, that you take your hard earned money elsewhere.
I am distinguished veteran and VFW member who is traveling with a young man with autism to a more affordable place. We also have with us my dog with whom I have spent a wonderful 17 years and I am grateful enough for each of those that I (and he is at the end of his life and very, very sick) did not want him to be in the rain.
In passing through town, we stopped at Vons market and, because of the weather and because we wanted to take a two day pause in our trip to see the town I attended college in.
To give a full and complete picture of our Vons experience I add that as part of my friend’s personal journey with autism, he prepares for each day and trip out of the house as though he expects to meet any manner of imaginable contingency. This morning he had two bags of such preparation including a two liter bottle of Coke, his iPad and etc. Yesterday, he stayed in Starbucks (within and owned and operated by Vons) for a considerable number of hours because it was raining and because he wanted to use the WiFi to communicate with the world as doing this verbally by phone or in person in way that most of us take for granted is impossible for him.
He was a paying customer, he is absolutely quiet, unflinchingly polite and perhaps the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.
Today, it is raining again, and at 7:30 AM we returned to Vons so that he could use the internet at Starbucks in Vons and I could pick up something for lunch on the road and 15 minutes later, as I was sitting with him, a security employee of Vons loudly asks me what we are doing. I told him that I didn’t understand the question or what he was getting at but explained we were having a coffee and then were going to pick up a couple of things and that I needed the WiFi to transfer some Bitcoin to my spending wallet to do this. He then said that what had happened yesterday with us remaining in the store (my friend in Starbucks I assume he meant) “all day wasn’t going to happen again” and that, gesturing to my friend’s two small bags, we needed “to leave immediately” and that we would need to sure we didn’t waste any time at it.
He was unbelievably smug and condescending. He had an abusive and patronizing tone and tended to smirk throughout this unpleasant exchange. All of this without provocation or anything in terms of behavior or appearance or demeanor on our part.
I am certain that he meant that we should not return.
It isn’t that the reader here, or that the corporate image Vons wishes to project, must respect dying dogs, people with autism, veterans of our armed forces, or anything else. I understand this and beyond what most can say, I understand this to the point of having spilt blood for it.
It is that there is an American identity that I think we all once shared. There is the idea that we should all respect and even defend the concept that we all have not only the right but even the expectation to live our lives in the way that we believe is right for us. This is constitutionally enshrined. You might add here the boilerplate “so long as we aren’t bothering anyone else” but it is redundant and unnecessary because this right that we respect and defend such things obviates the possibility that we would disturb anyone else. And we did not.
I recognized none of this in Vons. What I saw was intolerance, a total lack of sympathy even for a small dog that has difficulty in breathing which they sent into the rain.
Vons does not seem to tolerate this American identity. I listened as I prepared to go out as others who did not tarry too long or did not seem too different received their wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.
It’s hard to completely destroy a Starbucks experience but Vons can do it & Starbucks needs to reexamine this relationship.
It’s raining this Thanksgiving in America. And I don’t think Vons even knows it.
Shop elsewhere.

How about putting the store sign above an actual entrance instead of having the Starbucks sign above the actual entrance?
