I lived in that neighborhood for two years and found the campus to be a safe and peaceful sanctuary, perfect for relaxing or decompressing after work. While I can’t speak to the educational experience, I truly appreciated the serene atmosphere. It was also enjoyable to watch student matches in various sports, such as soccer or baseball, which added to the community spirit.

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Nice pathways for both walking and cycling. There are benches all around the campus to provide ample sitting areas to either just rest or to study with solar powered charging stations.

This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.

Definitely an underrated campus. It is one of the fastest growing and up to date UC campuses. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help you out. The professors really seem to care about you and there are so many opportunities to get involved. The campus is beautiful. Though parking is pretty available, they are kind of far away.

Lots of new development is in the works! Check out the etmology, business, and engineering programs!

This is a very good university. The courses teach state-of-the-art technologies, the research environment is good, and the facilities are top notch. The campus is very beautiful, and is accessible to the public. The university can be accessed via public or private transport or taxis. A number of bus routes serve nearby stops. The university has a number of locations for photographing nature, architecture, and wildlife.

I’m deeply disappointed in how UC Riverside handled Professor Perry Link’s situation. Professor Link, a renowned scholar of modern Chinese literature, has long championed free speech and academic freedom—values that are supposed to be at the very heart of any reputable university. Instead of standing firmly behind him when outside pressures arose, UC Riverside seemed to sideline his concerns. This is not just a failure of leadership but a real shame for democracy and free expression.
A university should be a place where ideas collide and debates flourish, not where professors feel vulnerable or unprotected for exploring important and sometimes sensitive topics. By not taking a bolder stand in defense of Professor Link, UC Riverside sends a troubling message to students, faculty, and the community: that academic freedom can be compromised under pressure. For an institution meant to foster open dialogue and intellectual curiosity, this lapse is truly disheartening.
Under Chancellor Wilcox, the administration failed to prioritize the principles of democracy and open debate, creating a chilling effect for scholars who dare to tackle sensitive topics. This is not just a lapse in leadership, but a real shame for what a university should represent: a place where ideas collide, debates flourish, and intellectual curiosity is encouraged.
