I know they have awesome services for people and serve the community in so many ways so I’m not speaking to that. I am speaking to the contribution area for donations. I find that it is poorly marked and you have to really know where you’re going to even find the door. Once there, you still wonder if you’re in the right place and go in the door, find no one there. See people walking about but no one looks up. Start hauling in your stuff by yourself and still not sure why no one‘s looking up or asking if they could help.
At any rate, we need a convenient place to contribute extra items here in Door County. At least the hours are better than feed my people and they don’t pick through your stuff but you do get the opposite sometimes and are totally ignored. In their defense, other times I have found a friendly face, but really need a bell, some signs to lead you to where you can contribute, a few thank you’s Sense new tax laws make getting a receipt useless.
Green Door thrift only gives a small portion to the community of what you give but they sure make it easy and are very helpful and thankful for your things. Habitat for Humanity is probably the best spot to give larger items. Otherwise, back to that same old trip to Green Bay again for things you should be able to do here in Door County. My choice there is Saint Vincent de Paul’s.

I absolutely love this place and I’m glad the money goes to children’s child care. I always get twice as many things as I was looking for. Everyone is so pleasant and they usually know if they have a specific item. Great cause and great people there
