Do not go here for aviation, it used to be the staple of this school way back when but now it is just a money grab. Actually having a teacher stay to teach Aviation has been struggling for the last 2 years and actually get “qualified” teachers to teach this trade. Don’t waste your money here, spend the extra money on a school that actually has a structure and good atmosphere. One more problem is the actual school will barely fund this program. All they focus on is other programs and aviation gets the bad end of the stick.

I feel it is crucial to bring attention to the concerning atmosphere at this school. Over the past few years, I have observed troubling behavior from certain teachers that raises significant concerns about their mental health and ability to manage a classroom effectively.

Several teachers have exhibited tendencies to lash out at students for seemingly no reason, creating an environment of fear rather than support. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and detrimental to the students’ well-being and educational experience.

It is imperative that this school be thoroughly investigated to address these issues. Our children deserve to be in a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn and grow without fear of being treated harshly by their educators. I urge parents and the community to advocate for change and ensure that the mental health of teachers is taken seriously, as it directly impacts our children's education and safety.

I am writing to express my deep frustration regarding my child's ongoing experience at this school, which has now spanned three years. Unfortunately, each year has been marked by encounters with at least one teacher who has exhibited abusive behavior. This includes physically grabbing items, throwing things, and yelling at students.

This year, the troubling pattern has continued with a different teacher. Disturbingly, this teacher has openly told students, “Go ahead and turn me in; I don’t care if I pass people or not. I’ve been turned in before.” Such a dismissive attitude towards accountability is alarming and unacceptable.

I find it unbelievable that this behavior has persisted and that the school remains open despite these serious issues. When will action be taken to address the safety and well-being of students?

I urge parents to be aware of these concerns and to advocate for a safer, more supportive environment for our children.

Just recently graduated from State Tech and if I could give the school 10 stars I would. Attending State Tech is a decision that I will never regret. The knowledge I gained, real-world experience, and the relationships I built there have prepared me for profitable employment and a life of learning. The college has an Academic Resource Center that provides FREE tutoring to students. One thing I can say about the college is you can tell the staff truly wants to see their students succeed. Something else I want to highlight about State Tech is their AWESOME career expo that they host annually. This gives students the opportunity to have employment discussions with companies directly in their field of study. The career services department of the College is a great resource for Alumni by offering Job Placement for Life. A degree from State Tech is a lot more than "just a piece of paper", it's a key to success. I am proud to be a State Tech Alumni.

Mostly great instructors, some are terrible. The administration wastes money left and right, and treats the school like a piggy bank. I can recall in my English class writing proposals to fix stuff around school because of how many complaints there were. Even if they fixed certain things, the attitude of the administration leaves much to be desired, and does not care about students beyond the money they provide.

Automation and Robotics and Electric Power Generation were great programs that I learned a lot from. But the administration there was worthless, they were a bunch of people with do nothing jobs that would pat themselves on the back at every single opportunity and line there own pockets with our money, or use it to buy the local golf course for "the students" to use even though we still had to pay fees to use it whether we wanted to or not. Or make us help put up lighting so that one of the administrators kids can have their wedding at the school They don't care about any of the students its all just a racket to bring jobs into that little run down town and to put money in their own pockets.

Great place to go to college. I was in the IEL program and the EDS program. If you do your work, you can easily pass. They have an ARC which is free Tutoring. I was a college officer so I met a lot of students from all programs and they all enjoyed it. Believe it or not I actually miss being in college it was that fun of an experience here. The town is small but it’s just right outside of Jefferson City so you can get anything you need.
