Since everyone else here is writing a review for an office they have never been to that should be directed to customer service, I might as well do it too 😂

I think Square Enix is a good company. They are not making microtransactions for literally everything like all the rest of the big gaming companies are doing. I appreciate that, and that is one reason I will continue to play their games.

Also, if you got your money stolen, it probably wasn't Square Enix's fault. So you should be calling your bank instead of complaining here. 🙄

This company ripped me off so badly!

I have been a fan of Final Fantasy VII since I was a kid. Most recently, the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released. Being a diehard fan I preordered the Collectors Edition back in October 2023 for a whopping 415.82USD (over 570$CAN).

Fast forward to the release date of February 29/24 - a week goes by and no updates on my package. Once I began to inquire about where my package was - customer service was virtually unavailable. I must of emailed upwards for 10-15 times before I finally began to get any responses. Square Enix blamed the courier and the courier blamed Square Enix.
From what I could discern from my very limited responses from Square was there was a shipping label issue. I also read online that several orders with the Collectors Edition were affected all over the world.
Eventually, after 2.5 weeks Square Enix blamed the issue on me, saying I gave them an incorrect address.
I need to be very clear here, I have been shipping to said address for years, I confirmed and double checked and confirmed again that the address provided was correct - as I also use it several times a week for my business - there is no chance in hell that the address I provided was incorrect.
Eventually, after over a month of trying to get a hold of someone who could help (with no success) some unbothered customer service agent (via email) informed me there was nothing they could do and that the fault lay with me. They told me I would be refunded minus the shipping. Then they abruptly shut down my inquiry.

I cannot express how disappointed and frustrated I am. As far as I am concerned - they robbed me for their screw-up. I have been a fan of this company since they were Squaresoft and of the Final Fantasy series and their other games since I was a kid.

Not only did I not even get a full refund (even of what they promised me), I never got my game. These people are awful to their fanbase and customers - I will never buy anything from them again.

I know this will never go anywhere - but I don't know what else to do. I am so angry about this entire process, especially the amount of money involved (and lost) and the beyond terrible customer service. Maybe at least, i can prevent someone from making the mistake I made with these crooks. Vent at the bare minimum.

I don't even wanna play the game anymore - this has left such a bad impression.

This company is awful, they're crooks and straight-up, just suck.

Stopped by for an impromptu visit to the SE USA office and was met by the very friendly and knowledgeable Miguel. No tours are available but Miguel answered so many questions and took his time explaining what goes on at this location. It was pretty cool to see official SE merchandise and artwork placed in the lobby. I was even able to hold and take pictures with official 2022 Game Awards trophies! It was an awesome experience to stop by and be met with helpful staff. Thanks!

Horrendous, thief of a company who cares only about how much money they can siphon from their unfortunate fans, long-standing and new.

Been a fan of Square Enix for over 25 years and that ended as of today. I will never. Ever utilize services from such an incompetent company ever again and I have filed two complaints against them with the LA BBB.

Don’t even bother calling customer service at all. They are completely awful and again, only care about the almighty dollar and how stupid they can attempt to make you feel. Ignorant, unhelpful bunch of “representatives” for such an audacious company.

If you get Jibran when you call technical support, just hang up immediately as he is completely and utterly useless. 0 stars if I could after my final experience with this company today but 1 is the lowest it’ll allow.
