Went there to get a price on a single sub install for my 2018 Tahoe. I have the factory bose system that sounds okay but it could use a little more bass, that's all I was looking for. My first visit was really good, I talked with an older gentleman, he gave me pricing and we set up an appointment date.

I showed up for the appointment and dropped the vehicle off, got a call 2 hours later that my bill was going to be $300.00 more because they quoted a wrong part. I told him that wasn't in my budget and he said they will remove everything so far and put it back to stock.

I'm my line of business I do quotes in excess of $600,000 for repairs on big cranes and earth moving equipment. If I'm off by any amount, that's my fault and I end up eating the cost because that's not the customers fault. They went to a professional for a quote to do the job correctly as did I.

I understand not wanting to lose money based on an employees mistake, but now they lost the whole job, got a negative review and lost a potential sale down the road, and my friends and family who are going to hear this story when they ask to hear my new sound system and I have to explain why I don't have it.

That's a lot more cost to the company than the $300.00 dollar part (probably less their cost) they could have eaten and made it right for the customer and received praise and a positive experience.

Walked in and was greeted quickly, hence the stars given. I asked several questions and asked for quotes on a few things. Was quoted roughly $700 for the $500 stereo I picked, I asked if that was including everything w/installation, and was told yes. They scheduled me the following week, I showed up and waited about 2 hours for it to be installed. No big deal. When it came time to pay i was given a total of $950ish, so I wasn't expecting a $200+ difference than what I was originally quoted- but went along with it, because it's obvious communication wasn't great here. (I also asked for a rear view camera installed during my initial visit) so I first assumed that was the price increase- but nope they didn't put the camera on the order when I originally came in and asked for it, so I would have to schedule another time to come in and install the camera. I also wasn't told until after the installation that they were currently out of stock of the stereo I ordered, so they upgraded it to $50 more stereo at "no charge" -but I didn't want that stereo, I liked the one I picked out and ordered, that's why I ordered it. Its been 6 months and I still hate the stereo they put in my car. I don't think a company should just assume someone would like the 'slightly more expensive' system. It's ugly and not easy to navigate. A complete waste of nearly $1000 and 2 hours of my time.
I'd give 1 star but I'm big on customer service, and they were always nice and pleasant to my face.

There customer service sucks, big time. I am out close to 500.00 dollars, and a new radio that is junk, which it was from the start, and even after five visits back to try to fix it !! So for the 500 dollars, I have a radio that picks up no channels, only plays CD,s now, when you turn up the volume on the steering wheel button, it won't go back down unless you turn the radio off, and turn it back on, plus other problems, screwed me out of 450 to 500 dollars, and I have junk to show for it !!! I look forward to letting others know, I got screwed !!!

Sound world reinstalled a faulty intoxalock device and fixed our car. They took care of the communication with intoxalock, that alone was a huge help. They treated us professionally and respectfully. We will definitely go back to them, regardless of the distance we need to drive. We love Sound World!

We had a remote start installed here. We absolutely love it!! Works great! The staff are very relaxed and friendly. We sat in comfy chairs while we waited and watched a movie. It was a wonderful experience.

Where do we start?!! Went in, asked for head unit install WITH back up cam for work truck inside $500. After they installed head unit with no cam they got angry with me for wanting the camera. Wanted to charge me for camera upgrade for $750. Do better. This is why i rarely trust installers for car audio in 52years on earth.

I was pleased to meet the owner, Jon, he's a really cool guy! Travis was awesome in car audio! I bought some amazing Sony headphones from Brent, who gave me a great price! You can tell that everyone there loves audio and music; they're passionate about it. Great culture, great family atmosphere! You don't have to drive out of town for your audio needs, we have the best spot right here in Wausau.
