Pretty cool place. A small aquarium but I spent like 4 hours here. They have lots of information. Jessica who gives the tour of the inner workings of the aquarium gives a lot of information that keeps you engaged. I had a better time here than some bigger aquariums and will be returning here more often.

The Smithsonian Marine Station is a place where scientists do work and research on the marine world. Because of that, it's not open to the public except on certain days and special occasions. It's really worth your while when they have their open house. All of the different scientists are present in their respective rooms with demonstrations set up of their research. There are microscopes with tiny sea life to see, incredible photographs of undersea life and experts right there to explain it. The scientists work on different things so you can learn a lot by talking to them. The station is also in a beautiful location. It's right across the road from the St. Lucie County Aquarium.
