I had a great experience learning with Savvy. It was definitely challenging, especially with my work schedule and often feeling exhausted, but the TAs were incredibly supportive and pushed me to do my best. John Puskas, my TA, was great. He took the time to ensure I fully understood concepts I struggled with in class. He didn’t just explain things—he broke down every line of code, helping me grasp what it was doing and even encouraging me to think outside the box. I gave them 4 stars
If I had to point out an area for improvement, I’d say they could incorporate more group projects. More collaboration would better prepare students for real-world teamwork, Other than that everything else was great.
Overall, my experience was rewarding. Most importantly, I came out of the program better than when I started. I can now build my own projects and bring my ideas to life. Of course, there’s still so much more to learn, but Savvy provided a strong foundation for this new journey I’m on.

The best part about this program, is I met some interesting people

Having said that I can eat at the grocery store for free

I don't think I've learned anything that would give me job ready in this program
The other graduates will talk to. You said the same thing they're not even working in computers because they didn't learn enough.

I really don't recommend this program even though the people are very nice... But it will not get you ready for a job, that's for sure. I say this as a extremely well-versed computer person and I thought this would be a nice addition to me however, it was a total waste of time and money

Savvy Coders springboarded my career as a developer with their excellent staff, teachers, and resources that they provide but what makes Savvy Coders a gold standard in tech bootcamps is the continuous support that I receive post-graduation in every aspect of my career journey in tech such as: whiteboard practicing, response emails from employers and encouragement to help build your confidence while navigating through the tech industry. Joining Savvy Coders has been the best decision.

Enrolling in Savvy Coders' Full Stack Development bootcamp is one of the best decisions I've made for my career. All of the staff truly care about your success and encourage you to keep going no matter how difficult the journey gets. The instructors spend a lot of one-on-one time with students, making sure that the concepts they're teaching make sense. After completing the bootcamp Laurie was able to connect me with an internship opportunity as a front-end developer. My only regret is that I wish I would have enrolled sooner. If you're thinking about taking the leap, my advice would be to attend one of the free Meetup sessions and go through some free online resources like freeCodeCamp to make sure this is something you're really interested in. If you go for it, stick with it. It's going to be challenging, but no question is a dumb question. The instructors, staff, and alumni are all rooting for you. Show up, do your best and give yourself room to grow. Thank you Savvy Coders for being so awesome! ❤️

UPDATE: I was kicked out of the Savvy Coders Slack work space because of this review.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. What a great example and proof of why more students haven't left honest reviews. If you do go through with the savvy coder's boot camp and they ask you for your honest opinion do not be honest with them. They will judge you for your honesty, instead of being professional using it as constructive criticism.

I would not recommend Savvy Coders. Initially, I reached out about an apprenticeship, but they pushed me toward the boot camp that cost $8,400 instead, which ended up being a major disappointment.

Here are some specific issues I encountered:

1. Misleading Job Placement Claims: They advertise job placement but offer only Career services. Most graduates seem to remain in the same jobs they held prior to the program.

2. Limited Support from TAs: Teaching assistants (who are all white, despite a primarily African American student base) offered minimal help. I frequently ended up assisting classmates outside of class due to the lack of support.

3. Lack of Diversity and Support: The absence of diverse representation among TAs and their limited engagement was a recurring issue.

4. Misleading Presentation Expectations: They make the final project presentation sound like it will be a rigorous panel review. In reality, it’s a formality with little technical input.

If you want to investigate Savvy Coders for yourself, look up their YouTube channel where they post final project videos, each with the student’s name in the title. You can cross-reference those names on LinkedIn to see the jobs these graduates hold now. After 197 graduates in 2024, only a small fraction have left positive reviews, which is telling. I mean think about it they have 37 reviews and they teach about 200 people a year.... What do you think that means? Most people are too scared to leave negative reviews. I'm a person with multiple disabilities that savvy coders really took advantage of.

If you’re considering a coding program, I’d recommend looking into free or low-cost coding resources instead, such as freeCodeCamp, Codecademy, Codefi, Npower, or Cyberup

Also the two reviews that are directly below my review, were classmates of mine. They never helped out other classmates, they never met outside of class to help other classmates, One of them basically had the teacher hold his hand through his entire final project. I have the class recordings, One of the kids literally took up all the class time for two 2 weeks in a row, by asking the teacher continuous questions about how to complete their final project. Savvy Coders ended up hiring these two as teaching assistants. They hired the two kids that put zero effort into helping their fellow classmates.... If they can't effectively communicate and help their fellow classmates how can they effectively communicate and help students as a TA.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's obvious nepotism is one of the key factors for who savvy coders hires as TA.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Savvy Coders. I came in with zero experience in writing code, and they were able to cater specifically to my needs. The instructors were patient and able to blend teaching with helping very seamlessly.

Steph, Barbe, Laurie, and everyone else on the admin side of the operation were amazing as well. They did a great job in assisting us with resume building, job searching, and overall course support.

I couldn’t say enough good things about my time at Savvy Coders. I had no hands-on technical experience coming into the bootcamp, but through Savvy's prework and curriculum, I now have a great foundation to kick off my new career in tech. The whole staff truly cares about your success in the bootcamp and in your new career path. If you are serious about transitioning to a career in tech and are committed to putting in the work, look no further because you are in the right place!

Cybersecurity was the boot camp of my choosing. The reason I chose cybersecurity over the other classes was because I have been personally cyber attacked and hacked and I wanted to get more knowledge on how I could prevent those things from happening to anyone else. This course was very knowledgeable and fun. You learn so much about being in the IT help roles and using tools to advance your skills to better your future. The instructors are very helpful and patient. I started this course with absolutely no knowledge of computers and this class made me feel so much more confident in going out into the IT career world and getting a job in cybersecurity. Not only do you take this course to get better knowledge but you also have a team of recruiters by your side every step of the way to help you land a career in the IT world. The staff is amazing. They don’t give up on helping you build your resumes and helping you prep for interviews. Savvy coders was the best thing to ever happen to me. So many doors have opened up for me and it’s all thanks to savvy coders.
