I graduated from the School of Professional Studies in May 2021 with a 3.04 GPA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. I have requested my transcripts numerous times through the National Student Clearinghouse for personal reasons and also for admissions to various graduate programs at other institutions. SLU has issued transcripts with inconsistencies and discrepancies over the years. It was only recently that I discovered this. As a result I have lost application fees and was denied admissions to some programs because my GPA was WRONG! I was a B student but sometimes they had me on paper as a C almost D student. It was only my most recent application where the admissions office at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) was transparent enough to compare the official transcript they received from SLU in June 2024 to an official copy I had received in September 2021. SLU corrected the error and issued a new transcript free of charge but that does not fix the embarrassment and disgust I experienced when it caused issues with my admissions to New York University (NYU) and The University of Texas Austin. SLU can't refund me for those application fees or turn back the hands of time to make it right. I went through rigorous appeals processes where I was not allowed access to my admissions files at these schools but they both stated that they had "academic concerns" (e.g. the transcript from SLU). It's insane that I paid $64K in tuition and people in the office can't click a correct button or the institution can't invest in software that isn't faulty to automate this for them. I would advise anyone who has graduated from SLU to check their records thee times after requesting them, even if the records are sent directly to another school, call the school who received it to inquire. The hard part is many schools will not disclose what they have received.

marvellous campus, easy to get used to. I’m from Canada and I was visiting my girlfriend who goes to slu. I wasn’t too sure about St.Louis as a city due to what I hear in the news, but being on the slu campus was a pleasant experience and made my trip much better

Chelsea

It's a private university, so it costs more than others in the area, but if you have financial need or have great grades, you can get a LOT of help. The school itself feels very separate from the surrounding area. It's almost as if going into another city when you step off campus.

The professors are wonderful, the reputation is good, and honestly the grounds are beautiful. I don't regret my time here and would happily attend again.

This was a super venue for the Gateway to Space regional conference of the National Space Society. The students were highly engaged. The meeting rooms were well appointed. The hall decorations are educational and visually appealing. The aerospace engineering labs have cutting edge equipment and projects.
