I have been with Community Foundation Sonoma County for nearly 10 years managing our technology, and Portola has been our I.T. consultants since before I arrived here. They set up and have maintained our network through at least two locations, an office move, and our latest migration 100% to the cloud. Their engineers are brilliant, their support crew is outstanding, and our systems have been secure and scaled to our needs every step of the way. Portola continues to level up their services, and never cease to impress me! I want to commend Portola Systems for their outstanding work. I am the president of 4th Street Laser and Surgery Center, as well as one of the partners at Eye Care Institute. I am the partner in charge of IT. Portola Systems has been managing our complex IT needs for our medical practices since 2015. The healthcare environment is highly complicated from an IT standpoint, requiring robust uptime and security. Indeed, the rules governing HIPAA and HITECH are difficult to manage. Portola has done an amazing job with the moving target of healthcare requirements. We have made a number of complex facility changes including opening a brand new 13,000 SF state of the art ophthalmology office, and Portola was there along the way. They have been responsive to our long term planning as well as our sometimes urgent daily needs, and have done their best to provide a secure IT infrastructure while keeping costs down. They have done a superb job interfacing with our many vendors including our multiple electronic medical records vendors, and equipment vendors. They have been proactive with staying ahead of the curve for our needs. And to top it off, they are delightful people. I cannot recommend them more highly.

The Mountain View Los Altos High School District has been working very closely with Portola Systems for the past five years. They are the top VAR (value-added reseller) and absolutely best integrator we work with. Portola's leadership and team of expert engineers has helped MVLA successfully rebuild our entire network and server infrastructure. Portola's team has guided us through planning and installing our entire Cisco Meraki network, the successful adoptions of InfloBlox for DNS filtering, Nutanix to upgrade our entire server stack (and backups), adoption and implementation of ClearPass for industry-standard network authentication, the installation and deployment of Verkada video safety cameras and access control, and many other successful projects that follow the best and safest industry practices. Portola's has also been involved in many high-stakes construction projects for the district and has delivered every single time.

Portola System Inc. either changed their management or something because the customer service ( quote request and ETS/ETA) has gone down hill. I could not get quotes in a timely manner and could not get ETS/ETA for orders placed. Since i work for the County and I have been acquiring all my technology procurements from Portola for over 7 years. Since they don't value my purchases and requests, i have moved on. Currently still have serval PO with them and could not get any ETS/ETA for those items. Stay away if possible. County procurement staff.
