Bill was an amazing tour guide! We set out early this morning, and paddling through the fog was a magical experience. Bill had all the gear (shortie wetsuits, booties, life vests, helmets) to make for a fun and comfortable experience. We saw thousands of pelicans and a ton of sea otters and even some beautiful spotted harbor seals right up close. Paddling in and around the caves was awesome - it provided just enough of a challenge to make it exciting without ever feeling unsafe. Can’t wait to get out there and paddle again with Bill sometime soon!

A fun stop on a Sunday afternoon. It has everything you never knew you needed. The owner Bill is a friendly character, ready to make a deal. I found some great yard art. Take your time and look around. Then take a phot at the big mermaid painted rock.

Had an amazing time! Pismo Beach Surf Shop has it all. The shop is eclectic, the owner is extremely knowledgeable. We felt safe under his watch and was led on a beautiful adventure. Caves, whales, sea otters, couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We came from Texas, Wisconsin and California on a family trip. Bill and his teammate Matt were great. Bill explained everything thoroughly and took us on a wonderful adventure. A couple of us have lake and river experience but none of us had ocean kayaking experience. We were safe, had a few little thrills, and they showed us otters and seals. My whole family loved it! My oldest son was slightly disappointed because he had to use a fishing kayak that was more plodding and slow, he is a very athletic, adventurous young man and felt held back...other than that small flaw, he also loved it! We would absolutely return and recommend. Bill also took the time to get pictures of our group, very considerate!

I don’t know if we could have had a better experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, took us out at the perfect time of day, and knew the waters like the back of his hand. We felt safe and comfortable as newbies to kayaking. We had a great mix of adventure, learning interesting facts about the area and sea life, and being able to peacefully enjoy our time on the water. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Absolutely amazing guided tours on kayak with a very knowledgeable and personable guide named Bill.
We were all first timers. Younger guys but with our mother who is terrified of the Ocean. I'm not too keen either, but when I tell you that Bill made every single step as beginner friendly and easy to manage as possible.
Yes, there are times when things can feel a little scary (no one wants to capsize.) But it's a very real chance.
What no one expects is that there is an awesome professional right at your side giving you clear, detailed, and calm instructions on getting back on the kayak.
Bill could put the most traumatized thalassiophobe at ease. I say that from first hand experience because I was never planning to go kayaking and now I want a kayak.
Stunning sights and beautiful caves, you'll also see seals lounging about and kelp forests that are truly mystical to paddle through.
Whether you're an avid ocean enjoyer or someone completely terrified like me, you will absolutely have an extremely memorable experience.
You may even get some exposure therapy to help with fear of water like me, I can't wait to get back in the water!
Truly a must do experience, and I have nothing but the utmost praise for Bill and anyone within the Pismo beach surf shop.

Bill and Jacob’s EXCELLENT adventure 🛶🗺💫

Bill’s shop provided essential waterproofing including booties and wet suits (socks and pants not recommended underneath). The hardest part of preparing was carrying the tandem kayak down the flight of stairs from the street but once in the water it was smooth sailing around and through Dinosaur Caves🦕 we saw many different birds and even spotted a seal!! Far outside my comfort zone of traditional city boy but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
