My best friend received top notch care here after a huge mental health crisis! Dr. Daniel is incredible and takes a lot of care into treating his patients. Now my friend is herself again and on the right path to mental health maintenance. They have given her all of the tools she needs and gone above and beyond for her.
After hospitalization, they set up outpatient treatment with a psychiatrist and therapist for maintenance so a hospitalization doesn't happen again. This is a great hospital and I would highly recommend coming here if you need the help.

This place is CATASTROPHICALLY BAD!!! If you have family there get them out as soon as possible, PLEASE DO NOT leave them there. The inpatient Doctors are exceptionally incompetent, they come up with plans but never implement them, they allow the illness(es) to get worse and try to rush patients who are clearly not ready out. I had a family member there who had bruises all over their back. Our experience was with the 4 South unit. They appear to be more disciplinarian then psychiatric and when the patient was discharged they were not informed of the discharge resulting in greater stress on the patient which was chalked up to "oh, it's always hard to transition out of the hospital" which is utter nonsense. We agreed on the discharge because of the utter level of incompetence from the top down. Communications are lacking, the staff does not care about the patient's family requests or questions and there were even times when they did not stock COMMONLY used psychiatric medications. I honestly hope this review helps someone else. If you love your family member do not ever let them be admitted here and if they are currently there, please do everything you can to have a plan to bring them to another hospital. I am also infuriated at the fact that I was LIED to by one of the Doctors who said my family member could be admitted because they were full but the other unit is "a better unit" NEVER EVER believe when Doctors tell you this. Do your research and advocate for your family and most importantly, BE THERE FOR THEM!!!

I just wanted to thank the security employees for their kindness to me last night. I was needing a restroom in an emergency situation & ran in to their building. They treated me with such kindness and I truly appreciate it! They were cheering me on as I ran to restroom & were happy that I made it in time. God Bless these folks.

My son was hospitalized for 31 days for bipolar disorder and this place was phenomenal compared to Gracie Square and Harlem Hospital. Loved the doctors and their curriculum of activities for the patients. Social worker was amazing too.
