I love the campus! It is so pretty and I love walking through it everyday! I was so lucky to study 2 courses there within 2 years and gaining qualifications from them. I have achieved so much from this in terms to skills. Anyone who loves learning about nature, I highly recommend coming here.

Avoid like the plague.

Kicked my son off the course without any enquiry as to why.
Wouldn't help with bursary costs for him as we, like many families, are struggling during this economic period, told him that they'd help him to apply for it and then ultimately kicked him from the course, unprofessional.
The only good thing about that college was Sarah, who was his course leader, I'm glad she's since jumped ship, she deserves better than these so called "tutors" who want nothing but to fill their pockets at the expense of the mental health of the students they claim to prioritise.

Negative experience, broke my foot and hand at different times, staff to this day still laugh about it, which really annoys me as it wasn’t funny at the time and not funny now. Accidents happened when taken the Shetland ponies out which were quite naughty and would kick and trip you up, which is fine there animals but I don’t appreciate that staff think it’s still a funny thing to talk about and lie that I didn’t have protective equipment on. Some classes were ok and some were not, don’t learn much reading off a white board/PowerPoint.

School continuously causes drama due to poor staffing, like the children complaining before hand I’m sure this will fall on their deaf ears! Do not send children to this college they are not safe, as a parent with children involved in this weekly nonsense!!

Wow, what an amazing campus. Took a young person along for a taster afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and professional. The campus is set in the amazing Northumberland countryside with outstanding views. I think my young person will benefit greatly from attending this college.

I have spent one year at the campus studying first Animal management and then Equine/Horse management, i joined the equine course late as that was what i was initially going to do, the general management of the course was lacking and they had me complete a lot of my course with little to no guidance to then complain about my grades to my parents. One of the tutors especially was extremely rude and verbally abusive to me in different occasions, causing me to often have anxiety attacks. Generally my experience at the Kirkley hall equine unit was stressful and upsetting, as i spoke to other students who left the college i found i wasn't the only one feeling like that. I am now on my second year studying equine management in Askham Bryan College, York achieving distinctions and really enjoying the course which has a much higher standard for both tutors and facilities.

Personally, I highly not recommend this college to the parents who have SEN kids to go study there especially horticulture course. The teachers there are not capable enough to help SEN children.

I would give this college a 0 if it was possible. I’ve been at this college for one year and the attitude and disgraceful behaviour exhibited by the teachers is atrocious!
In animal care the teachers do not care about the students. People have been asking for help and the tutors refuse to help and tell them to go see another teacher. Once you see that other teacher they tell you to go to another one.... and so on. Making your problem seem insignificant and eventually meaning it doesn’t get resolved.
The students with special needs or students who with suport are not receiving the assistance that they need. And when they seek assistance they get shouted at or told its their own fault. When it comes to assignments, you are given a piece of paper and told to pretty much go away. Without ANY indication of what the assignment should look like they are left to do everything themselves. Making it even more of a challenge.
If I could turn back time I would never enrolled.
Hope this is helpful,
Bye!
