Power is out literally three times in a week. Power went out today and there was absolutely no weather issues today at all. Tell the freaking engineers to fix the problem, and stop doing patch jobs or deliberately setting up the system to fail so they get overtime. This is absolutely absurd.

Disgusting customer service and lack of adhearing to people’s problems. They say one thing but it never happens. Thanks to you guys i lost over $600 in groceries since i was considered a fire hazard at 1am. But when i called at 3pm earlier that day it wasn’t a big deal.

This company will put you in a horrible position.
Our experience: We’ve owned a home in st Robert for over a year using this company. We’ve ALWAYS have had direct deposit set with auto payment. The card that was used for it all was stolen one month and of course we had to get a new one. Unfortunately we forgot to update the card info for this company and we became late ONE month. They did not reach out, did not send mail, did not call us, they did absolutely nothing to let us know we were late. They then turned out electric off and when we called to figure it all out, they raised our security deposit to $350 plus the owed electric. We paid the electric and now they want to double charge us. It’s insane to me they think anyone in the city of st Robert can afford $600+ on one month to pay for electric?!?! And no they don’t care if you’re a veteran, disabled, active duty, or anything. Highly unprofessional morals and ethics from this company. We will never in our entire lives use this company again. We’ll go solar before we use them. I highly do not recommend Laclede Electric.

Mind boggling reviews here about the cost... They tell you how much it is per Kw it's up to you to choose what you use your power for. The more you use the higher the bill. It's not a difficult concept. Keep an eye on how many kw you use and add up the cost yourself. Of course your bills will be higher in winter because it takes more power to run a furnace than an AC again keep an eye on your kw usage and you'll see that.

Sadly they can't keep the service on line for more than five days at a time without service at a time without service interruption every week. Maybe bye 2030 they will hire someone who can keep the service on with out interruptions, doubtful I now know why everyone is going solar. Lacked Electric is the worst!!!!!

Been using them for over two years on their pre-paid plan. I love it. The ability to track my daily usage on the app (part of pre-paid) has really helped me find a happy medium for my house temperatures during the winter and summer. At $0.082 per kWh its a lot cheaper than other places you'll go in the country.

Don't be fooled by the other reviewers who clearly have no concept of the effects insulation can have on your home. It matters more than the temperature you set your thermostat to. Our house is 2400 sqft and was built in 2010. Our 12 month average is $136 per month. Compare this to my buddies house that was built in 90s, is only 2000 sqft and averages closer to $250 a month.

I keep my house at 65 degrees in the winter time . Which really means inside is around 60 degrees if I’m lucky. I walk around in pants and sweatshirts all day every day at home freezing. My electrical bill is close to $200 every single month in the winter. I’m going to be broke in the summer trying to cool this place off. Absolutely pathetic mark up!!!

Our power went off today (Good Friday) about 6pm. Called it in and power was restored unless than an hour. The man who came out to check it out was here no more than 15 minutes after our call! The poor man was on his way home when he got the service request.
