A pretty stop in Idyllwild to take a walk, sit and have lunch ( bring it with you) and admire the pine groves and varied fauna unique to this area. It’s not a difficult walk around the preserve but there are more difficult and longer trails that start there as well. Has nice visitor centers and facilities.

Went there today with my best friend. Nice trails and Nature Center. Wonder why the bronze bear needs chaining up but…

Nice hike. Not crowded on a Wednesday morning. Pretty steep climb on the one side. Good shade along the way.

Great experience, and we got there at @230. We had plenty of time to enter the park, walk around, and explore and make it back down the mountain by 4 pm before dark. 243 is a winding road, so make sure you know the conditions of traveling up the mountain before approaching. We initially set out to go to RivCo Park 5 minutes away from the nature center, but upon arriving at that park, we realized there wasn't much snow. Nevertheless, it was a great trip. If your child is a 4th grader, they can enjoy 54 state parks free by using the Every Kid Outdoors program. It's worth it.

The scenery and trail is great. The restrooms though lack attention. The women's bathroom according to my wife had no toilet seat covers or paper towels. The toilets were dirty. The men's bathroom were no different. No toilet seat covers no paper towels, and the hand dryers didn't work. They need to do better.
