Zero Stars if I could! They claim to have America's Best Warranty which is simply not the case! My wife and I purchase a 2 year old, certified used Sonata in 2018 that had about 10,000 miles on it. The warranty transferred as it was a certified used car from Hyundai. We started to have issues with the transmission and the RPMs jumping but the vehicle speed does not increase unless we let off the gas to allow the RPMs to come down and then we can reapply the accelerator and the vehicle will pick up speed. Keep in mind this all started happening around 60,000 miles and 7 years when the car was produced as we have a 2016 model. This issue happens every time we drive the car and being in our 40's we take extremely good care of the car and do not abuse it. When I took it to a local Hyundai dealership they first told me that the vehicle was not under warranty and the service tech was adamant about this. I had to call Hyundai USA to confirm that the warranty transferred as we were suppose to have a 10 year, 100k mile warranty. Hyundai USA did confirm this and when I went back to the dealer the service manager confirmed the warranty transferred. I left our vehicle with the service manager for 5 days and they claim that the vehicle will not act up and that they could not duplicate the issue we explained was happening. I was then told that because the vehicle is not showing a "code" that the warranty would not cover replacing the transmission. There is clearly a transmission issue as this problem happens every single day that we drive the vehicle. Clearly there is some sort of issue with the RPMs jumping and the car does not accelerate without letting off the gas and reapplying the accelerator and I spoke to numerous transmission shops who said that there could be an electrical issue and that would make sense as to why a "code" is not thrown. Hyundai has refused to resolve the issue. The only reason why my wife and I purchased a Hyundai was for the so called "America's Best Warranty." Great marketing by Hyundai with no follow through on their claim, it is an awesome way to sell vehicles knowing you will not take care of the people buying your product. We have had Hondas and Toyotas until this vehicle as were trying to save a little money with the purchase, we will never make that mistake again! The little savings you will get on the original purchase is not worth going with a Hyundai. You are better paying more for a better quality product up front as this issues is costings us thousands of dollars.
