I had an absolutely awful experience at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma. From check-in to check-out, the service, amenities, and room quality were disappointing.

We called a week before check-in requesting a fireplace room and were told to call closer to our stay. On the day of, just hours before arrival, we were informed we’d receive a free suite upgrade. However, when we arrived, we were given a standard room, and our fireplace request wasn’t even noted. The front desk was unhelpful and simply told us to take up any complaints with Hyatt customer service.

The issues didn’t stop there. The fireplace in our room never worked the first night, despite multiple calls. The second night, we called ahead to request it be turned on by 6:30 PM. When we arrived back at the hotel, it was still off. After more complaints, an engineer finally came, only to discover the propane tank was empty. This should have been checked before guests arrived.

The pool was dirty and unusable, and the hot tub was cold with non-working jets. When we informed staff, they sent an engineer who told us the pool area was closing soon, so we couldn’t even enjoy it.

As for the room itself—absolutely terrible. The pillows were rock hard, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We barely slept the first night and had to use our own clothes as pillows the second night just to get some rest. When booking a hotel, you expect a relaxing stay—this felt like a punishment.

To top it all off, I was charged $9.95 for internet despite being a premium Hyatt rewards member. The front desk never mentioned this charge, and I only saw it when I got my emailed bill after checkout.

This hotel is an absolute disaster—poor customer service, uncomfortable rooms, and broken amenities. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Staying at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Rosa was an absolutely wonderful experience, one of the best of my life. The hotel is located close to downtown, so we could easily walk to lots of great restaurants and shops in just a few minutes. It made our vacation easy and relaxing. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely. The exterior and interior were incredibly beautiful and felt luxurious. Our rooms were clean and spotless, and the hotel’s service was exceptional. The hotel offered a gym which was really nice and came in handy, as well as a beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub. The pool was in a beautiful setting and had very comfortable seating, it was wonderful to lounge in such a nice environment. The hotel’s restaurant was excellent—the food and drinks were delicious and it felt like fine dining. Even the breakfast buffet felt upscale and was delicious—better than any breakfast buffet at other hotels I’ve been to. We were treated excellently at the Hyatt Regency and I felt very taken care of. I’ve recommended the hotel to all of my friends and family who are interested in visiting wine country. If you decide to stay here, I promise you won’t regret it.

We enjoyed our stay at Hyatt, room was nice and clean. We were disappointed that we booked the resort-view and had upgraded the room (to have "spa features"), only to have the room facing the shopping center and the spa features were two showerheads (only one worked at a time). We had thought we were booking a soak in tub with the room. We were disappointed with that, but the room was still nice and clean and everyone we interacted with were wonderful and attentive. Bed was comfortable and housekeeping came daily. It was nice to have the bar and the restaurant downstairs after a long day of traveling too and of course the convenience of walking to downtown as well as the mall nearby.

Do not have any events at this location / Give them your business.!

They will gladly have you sign contracts without specifications of any details regarding said contract to get your business, then take your money, no if ands or buts.

We were going to have an event at this location. We had multiple conversations regarding event and details as we are from out of town and were relying heavily on the event staff to assist in preparation. We made the mistake of trusting them & letting them convince us to sign a contract via multiple emails regarding the event without having any other details other than the event location and day of details.

After giving a deposit (Which were told was non refundable) we were excited for this upcoming event.

As life does happen we had to cancel our event and move on assuming we would be out our initial deposit, cutting losses and moving on.
Come to find about 4 days later our credit card charged another 50% of the venues total for the event.
After a total lack of compassion regarding the situation, which had forced us into the reason for our cancellation. Gladly, they said that we were at fault for failing to notice a small portion on one of the last pages regarding cancellation, on a contract they had emailed and pushed us to sign...

As if taking a large deposit upfront was not profitable enough they had to come back and charge us 50% for their convenience.

Please do not give them your business as they will charge you, then charge you again to double up no matter the situation...

Great location. Great service. New management could use some work but the everyday staff are excellent and very accommodating. Jasmine at the front desk hooked me up! I had a small issue and she took care of it so patiently and professionally. I will come back because of people like her being so welcoming.

The location was good, decent property but we didn't receive housekeeping in the three days we were there which was disappointing. We had to ask for someone to come fix the shower because it wasn't draining. The lobby was beautiful and the firepit was great to sit around at and enjoy a glass of wine.

During my recent stay at the Hyatt, I unfortunately encountered a series of disappointing experiences||||Firstly, upon checking in, I approached a staff member to ask for directions to my room, which was situated in an adjacent building. Instead of providing assistance, I was unexpectedly asked if I was a DoorDash delivery person. As the obviously only black person in the room full of white people, who all turned to look at me, this interaction left me feeling singled out and especially uncomfortable and unwelcome in this Hyatt. This incredibly poor and embarrassing judgement call from the staff member in addition to the stares from fellow guests, made me unable to relax in any common space for the duration of my stay. This experience was particularly surprising as I have stayed in Hyatts all over the world and have never been treated this way. The feeling of not being welcomed as a respected guest continued once I got to the room they assigned me. ||||Upon entering my room, I discovered several issues: there were no bathrobes, only one towel, and the refrigerator, phone, and curtains were all non-functional. And these issues were not addressed on time. The bathrobes that were brought up were super tiny, I am not a large person but they appeared to give me child robes. My fiancĂŠe was shocked. When we returned from the pool we expected to have had towels delivered to the room but none were found. We had to use hand towels to dry off after our post-pool shower. ||||The engineer who came to fix our curtains was surprised about how they were damaged so weirdly and not reported on earlier. This was validating and he made the curtains shut so that we would not be exposed to the lights outside while we slept. He was very much appreciated.

The staff was very helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located near the freeway. The pool, hot tub, and gym were all beneficial. The breakfast was delicious! The rooms are clean and we had a very good nights sleep. We will be back whenever we are visiting the Casino.
