So, I fought the good fight and still had to pay to cancel my HughesNet internet service! I explained the service was so awful we had to turn the wifi off on our cell phones to make a phone call or to be able to stream on the Chromecast. I explained we stopped even trying to stream anything because it would play for 1 minute and then buffer for 2-3 minutes over and over again. I asked for a manager and got a supervisor. After speaking with the supervisor, she told me she could help me by reducing my monthly plan. When I calculated the monthly plan for the remainder of our agreement, it was almost double the cancellation fee ... what kind of help is that? I then started asking for a manager again - to which she would not even acknowledge my request and kept offering me ridiculous solutions. I then get her manager who was not even pleasant or kind and was again told there were no other options and they would not further reduce or waive the cancellation fee. I asked for his manager and was told there was no one else to speak with. Find any other internet solution besides HughesNet! They have to lock you in to a contract because that's the only way to trap you into their service and get money from you one way or the other. I was naive in thinking "it will be fine" and "I'm sure it's not that bad" Ugh! Rant over and lesson learned!

I paid for this pitiful service for two years ($55 per month the first year and $82 the second) because not much was available where I lived. The service was so weak that I wasn't able to stream movies. When I moved and called to cancel, they informed me that I am supposed to pay an installer to disconnect my equipment and they say they will charge me a termination fee after two years? Save yourself aggravation and stay far away from Hughesnet!

1/3- Taking advantage of limited services in rural areas by only offering a 2 year contract (only company available)
2/3 - charges $250 in cancellation fee for ending early
3/3 - As of 5/30 they changed contract to a cancellation charge of $400. Ridiculous.

Do not use this service. This is the worst internet service out there. It’s not worth the money and I do not recommend this service. I have used better alternatives which work much better for the price. In the past two years, I have experienced slow interest and buffering videos. Internet browsing is very slow. I made some research and I found out I was using part of the my 20 gb’s while I had no devices connected.. apparently, every month I would deplete all of my data. It was worthless even it I want to use it. In a few weeks I'm getting rid of this company. Please don't make the same mistake as I have.

Can I leave no stars? This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. When they sign you up, they make it sound great, but leave out important information. Like how your internet speed will drop like a rock after the first month. Oh but they can fix that! Give them more $$$. Finally had enough of the HORRIBLE customer service and cancelled. I had to go up on the roof and remove a piece of equipment to send back or they would charge me. WHO DOES THAT!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Horrible Horrible Business! Do not use. Buyer beware! They do not honor their contact. Getting out of the contract has been costly, and unsuccessful. Their customer service puts you on hold for litterally hours. They continue to deduct money even though our contract has ended. Plus the service was not good at all!!!! The only reason I gave them a 1 rating, is because zero is not an option.

This company has been nothing but unhelpful and predatory. Their internet service is horrible and their customer service is worse. I switched to OTR Mobile and never looked back... until we got hit with another charge from HughesNet.

Poor satellite service. We have service for about 5 days out of the month. If you live in a mountain community Do not get Hughsnet for your internet provider. You will be very disappointed.
