We stay at Hale Springs Inn whenever we can get to the Rogersville area. The whole Inn is just big enough to have the amenities we want like a full restaurant and bar, while being small enough to get personal attention from the staff.||They have really expanded their whiskey range at the bar, even offering a whiskey flight. They have a great range of Sazerac including Buffalo Trace items like Blantons.||The rooms are super clean and comfortable. They also have a great walled-in garden area with tables perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the countryside.

I would love to give the McKinney Tavern 5 stars. However, our experience last night needs to be communicated to the public. Hopefully, the restaurant will re-examine their pricing policies for liquor.

My husband and I took our 2 kids out to dinner as is our weekly custom. We ordered food (which was very good for the price) and we each had two Elijah Craig bourbon cocktails. We ordered doubles, which is usually an extra shot (so drink size would be 3 oz or 4 oz, depending on how the bartender views a double). The waitress asked if we still wanted a second drink because they were $20 per drink. Even though it was on the high side, we were fine with that. However, what we didn't realize was that instead of charging $5 or so extra per shot to make it a "double", the bartender was charging us for 2 full drinks at $20 each in one glass. Our bar tab was $160 for 2 people, 2 drinks each!

I travel extensively for a living and have had many Elijah Craig doubles in large cities including New York, Newark, Chicago and Detroit. The highest I was ever charged for a double old fashioned was $27 in Newark, New Jersey... and the bartender had accidentally charged me for a very high end bourbon. The drink was refunded down to $19 for a 3 ounce pour.

The manager was very nice and talked to the bartender. She offered to remove the $34 steak one of us ordered. This brought us down to $31.50 per cocktail. Still the highest I've ever paid for in my life.

We were hoping that we added a new restaurant into our "rotation" that we could regularly enjoy. But unless the management communicates to us that they have reviewed their bar pricing to bring it down to reasonable, we won't be coming back.

Loved this historic hotel and the town! So much we are moving there next year! The main street was a little noisey being in a room on the street side but we got used to it by the end of our stay. The restaurant in the hotel was great and service wonderful!

A hidden gem in downtown Rogersville. If you have never been I recommend going. You will get a big city meal at a home town price . The atmosphere is great.

The manager Mike was very helpful, courteous, friendly and professional. He guided us to the place, made sure we were comfortable and had snacks available. We made it there after 11pm and he made us feel welcome. We will definitely tell all our friends and family & come again... ❤ī¸

Stopped in here for lunch today during Rogersville Heritage Days. Excellent food. Had the Ahi tuna and fish and chips. Both were very fresh. Cute and quiet dining room with offset bar area. The Inn looks nice as well. May have to explore that in the future

This was such a nice time! The staff was super friendly and helpful from the time we checked in. Out room was very large and clean and well equipped with furniture and antique decor. The halls are full of history from the 1800's. We had the 'do not disturb' sign up so they left fresh towels out side our door.
Breakfast was delicious including sausage biscuits and coffee cake, apple dumplings.
I would absolutely stay here again!
