This place was absolutely amazing to tour around and walk the trails. Its located in the middle of a pristine pine forest that has been well managed by the people with the NERR. I was there at a turtle workshop hosted by them and it was an incredible experience. And they do workshops like that for free every so often that are very educational and entertaining. I enjoyed my trip very much and there are very friendly and knowledgeable.

I did not visit the reserve center so I cannot review that. I also visited before Hurricane Nate, so I'm not sure how the storm affected the launch and pier. I will visit again to see what is different. I loved the facilities here, the fish camp at the launch has adult drinks here so you don't have to tote along too much stuff. This may become a regular spot. I like it.

We only use the boat launching area to access the bayou but we love getting out to go fishing and bird watching.
