I would give this school a 0 if I could. The whole point of social work is being emotionally intelligent enough to support individuals that need help. Though, the staff here is not emotionally intelligent, will yell at you, will steal your money, and then call you names in confidence. They administratively withdrew me from my courses after pressuring me to enroll in a course. I couldn’t get any of my money back and they sent my outstanding debt (that I refused to pay due to being called a terrorist) to a debt collector who harassed my father.

If I could give Fordham University School of Social Service zero stars, I would. Worst experience of my life. Fordham GSSS doesn’t prepare their students for any sort of social work endeavor. The dean is biased and has her blinders on most of the time. As a disabled student, I expected more from a university that has renowned academics in other colleges within the university.

Buyer beware. You will pay for a lackluster education that will hinder you, and not prepare you for your social work career.

The MSW program here is a complete joke and does nothing to prepare students for any kind of clinical social work. Some of my peers have essentially failed the class, doing maybe half the assignments, but still get “passing” grades crying to the admission. Speaking of the administration, they only care about taking your money, they seem to have zero interest in producing competent social workers.

If you ever see a therapist that went to Fordham, run away. If you want to actually learn social work, look elsewhere.

They need to do so much work for a school that is supposed to be preparing social workers to work with oppressed people. I have never experienced as much racism in a school setting as I’ve experienced at Fordham GSSS.
