They DO NOT CARE about helping people in need. Rude and unprofessional employees from the call center all the way up to supervisors. I turned in all information requested and was approved for snap and only received 1 month of benefits since I was approved. When I called to find out what the problem was and why I was not receiving my snap benefits, I was told that I did not submit all the information. Even though everything I submitted was uploaded through access Arkansas website! When I spoke to the gentleman that did my interview over the phone, he told me he had everything he needed to get me approved. And now here I am less than two months later with no benefits and they are blaming me. Smh they lose information constantly. They never take accountability for not doing their job the right way. And then have the nerve to be hateful and rude. Some thing needs to be done!

I called to ask about my snap benefits and the lady I talked to was incredibly rude and hateful. She didn't even look at my account just told me that I would be fine and just wait. I then called my local Fayetteville office and they were kind and respectful. They looked at my account and it turned out I need to send a document in. If I had listened to the horrible employee at the main office in Little Rock, I would have been denied. Find another DHS office to call because this one is horrible. They don't care about you or the people they should be helping. Absolutely horrible.

Terrible. Ive never had dhs treat me so poorly in the 3 states ive lived in. They lie and never answer their phones. They tell you they need something then cancel cuz they needed other things. Poorly ran and the workers dont even try to help. Dont bother with them. They need to be shut down and figured out better.

I called twice within their operating hours and both of the times I was on hold 30 minutes and then they hung up on me. The second time I called I knew it was going to be a waste of my time due to it being 30 minutes till they closed, and I was right! I waited for 37 minutes, and instead of answering the phone like they should have... They hung up on me again!!!!! Now on the third try since it was 4:37 p.m. their automated machine wouldn't let me through and told me to call within their operating hours! What kind of customer service is that? Not a good one, that's for sure. The only reason why I called them was due to Sebasian county not answering their phone at all. I literally let it ring for five minutes straight and no one answered! This is ridiculous! Like someone ahead of me said, don't waist your time!!! I would suggest waiting forever in person, at least that way you won't give them a chance to be able to completely ignore you.

As is the case,(as usual), when dealing with almost ANY agency of this state, including so called (Smart? systems), trying to reach someone who can actually help is is a complete waste of time. In the event that you should reach someone, chances are that you will be switched several times before you reach someone who if they cannot actually help, might know someone who can!
Like we like to say here in Arkansas, Thank God for Mississippi!!

Went in person to get an application for Medicaid. Filled out the application given to me by the person at the window. Received a letter weeks later stating it was the wrong application. After filling out a new application, have called several times to check on the status and no one ever answers the phone. Today after waiting on hold forever, someone finally answered, couldn't understand me when I spelled my name for her, said "hold on" and then hung up on me. Called back and waited on hold until the office was closed and received a message to call back during business hours. Ridiculous.

How a government agency can allow itself to be run so poorly is mind-blowing. It's no wonder AR has the reputation it does. It's well deserved. I've been hung up on twice. Fabulous experience.
