They do the school pictures at my daughter's school. It's the only option for school pictures. They did the regular pictures and had an optional spring picture session. Each session is 4 pictures at school. Nothing fancy. No outfit changes, no posing, so issues with additional indoor or outdoor lighting. It's basically going to Kmart or Sears back in the day to get your picture taken.
I get that there are a lot of kids, but on the first session for the regular school picture, they were horrible! Not one decent picture. They allowed my daughter to come back on make up day. There were very few kids, especially since school hadn't started. They came out good. Nothing special, but good and it took 90 seconds. I purchased the digital copies for $60.00 (should of been 4 but it was 8 pictures counting the 4 horrible pictures). So $60.00 for 4 pictures on 9/14/2021. If this was the end of it, I would of probably still given them 4 stars. but....
Spring pictures on 3/24/2022 (6 months later), they did spring pictures. The examples they had looked pretty good and I asked my daughter if she wanted to do them or not. She said she did... I shouldn't have asked. Again, they took 4 pictures. The first 2 look almost exactly the same and decent. Again, nothing special. No one would really think they were school pictures from professionals. The last 2 were also almost exactly the same and where just horrible again. Any parent could of taken it. I like having digital copies since the fire in 2018. This time though, 6 months later, a digital copy of a single picture cost $60.00 and all 4 digital pictures now cost $125.00. The price more than doubled in a 6 months period. And again, for pictures most parents could take. That is why I'm lowering the score to 2 stars.
Everyone has been struggling. I get that, but to try to take everything out of parents pockets is ridicules. I get they charge extra for digital pictures. They get paid less because people don't buy hardcopy printed pictures that they can get a cut from, but to raise the price 103% in just over 6 months is not ok. Even the hardcopy printed pictures aren't cheap. You either get ripped off or you get ripped off. Sure, I can skip this all together next year and have my kid miss out on a school even because let's face it, Picture Day in any school is an event, or I get ripped off. Choices choices.
Update: 9/2022
The school used Creative Imaging Center again. No decent pictures again. Will have to try again on make up day. I checked the pricing again and they are sticking to their $60 per picture for the digital copies. I'm sorry, but this really is a rip off. I could understand up to a 20% increase, but 103%, nope. I'm also dropping the score to a 1 star because it's the same issues as last year, not just in our school, but all schools based on other reviews over the last year.
