We have worked with this company for many years. When we first implemented Impromed we sent 3 employees to Oshkosh for training and someone came to our clinic for onsite training. The customer service was outstanding. We had a recent update and experienced many snags along the way. Some of the customer service people are very knowledgeable and helpful. We did not receive the onsite training that we had once. The training was mostly videos which is fine but a little more difficult to access when you need a review. We are considering taking the leap to the updated version that allows clients to schedule appointments. We are a little hesitant and apprehensive as it took some time to iron out all the wrinkles on the last update. We have found that the support seems helpful but the online support is not very user friendly. There is a delay between getting someone online and getting your problem written out for support. I know nothing about practice management software development but after using this for sometime I would think it could be a little more efficient. It seems of the steps are duplicated.

I worked here while it was still called Impromed. Mostly everyone who worked there then is gone but it seems that the pay is still a huge issue. I was paid 12 an hour and then got a .75 cent raise in 2008 which caused me to immediately look for other jobs that paid 3x as much. It was a pretty laid back place back then but that was when it was privately owned. The owners daughter got to the top immediately (She has been vice president forever now) by being the owner's daughter.

We have used the Infinity software for about 10 years and have not needed tech support much until the past month. We pay a lot for software support, but our experience in the past month trying to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and getting Infinity to function has been a nightmare and consumed much of our time. All of the money I have spent on support seems to be a waste.
We have repeatedly been told different things by different people in support and never seem to be able to deal with the same person. Once we found someone who seemed to know what they were talking about, we weren't allowed to request that person again.
We were finally told by a supervisor that everything would be okay to install Windows 10 on our server and it nows seems that it has crashed despite what we were told. Of course we did this on a Sunday to avoid taking time during our full schedule during the week, and tech support didn't bother to return my call when I called for assistance.
Although we like the software, customer service is SORELY LACKING.

Applied for a job through a lengthy and semi-ridiculous 50+ question questionnaire, phone interview with contractor, then in person interview with contractor, then phone interview with their HR, then in person panel interview with employer. Appears two of the panel really liked me and one did not, because I was asked if I checked out their website and thought I did I wasn't asked to nor was I asked anything other than what I thought about it, which wasn't much, it's a website. Anyway at one time I was hopeful I'd get an offer but I was declined. Anyway I accepted an offer the next week for like $8/more per hour so no harm done. Felt like the employment process should be tweaked.

Impromed/Infinity. Absolute worst software and support. Extremely expensive and antiquated. IT staff often blames our hardware (which THEY supply). It’s a ridiculous cycle of incompetence. Software is cumbersome, crashes are frequent. Response time is abysmal. Support IT tries to fix everything remotely ( as we run from station to station assisting them... this always requires an important staff member of mine to babysit the process) but nothing is ever truly fixed. Instead the latest and greatest IT staffer in their support stream layers on another bunch of tangled bandaids until we limp away exhausted and frustrated and still broken. When we have an issue...which is often...we are slowly routed through a ridiculous system of escalation and each level has a poorer and poorer grasp of what is truly going on. They seem to have no understanding of how critical the day to day operations at our small clinic rely completely on a functioning (all the time) software program. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SOFTWARE or this company. Frustrated and STILL BROKEN.

Our experience with Impromed has been pretty negative. We find it very labour intensive. It has been really disappointing and we just don't want other small animal clinics to make the same mistake we did. We have been using it now for 9 months and it is still awful to use!

Comments: Infinity allows us to perform veterinary medicine and not "think" about the software. It's easy to use, versatile, customizable and always improving. We are able to be "paperless" and not miss charges. Infinity fits into all aspects of our practice-surgery, boarding, grooming, and general medicine. The flexibility of the modules to schedule appointments, make reservations, utilize a treatment plan, email clients, even track employee hours makes Infinity top notch. The added use of the smartphone app to access medical records or the appointment scheduler allows us to do house calls more efficiently.
Populating the invoice from the medical record is an easy way to build the medical record without missing charges. With Treatment Plans, you can put in services as minor as walking a dog or play time, to an in-depth plan after surgery that monitors medications. In using Treatment Plans, we are able to assign team members to tasks and ensure that each task is done in a timely manner, all while simultaneously recording data to the medical record.
Emailing the client, printing/emailing reports and tracking all emails sent are nice features. The Episodes of Care module is a "virtual file" of the pet that you can customize and make a checklist on to ensure that you do get the record written up, follow up visits scheduled or progress reports made. Request lab tests, input charges into record, and have Infinity automatically download and import the lab into the proper pet's record. Using a tablet and working on the go in the clinic allows employees the flexibility to work almost anywhere- exam rooms, lobby, treatment area where a workstation isn't always feasible. The integration with Element Payments Services for credit card processing is seamless. Having a secure processor with the ability to take major credit cards and balance the books is a huge timesaver.
Tech support is readily available as well as fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Hardware support and software support is at your fingertips by phone, live chat or email. As we continue to grow and think of new ways to use Infinity, it seems like ImproMed has already thought of them. I don't believe that a practice could outgrow this software. Infinity is the perfect software for us. If you are looking for a software that will be able to grow and evolve as your practice does, then Infinity is the right software for you. Whether you are a 1-doctor or 20-doctor practice, Infinity can handle it.

Definitely do not recommend this software. It is unnecessarily complicated (and expensive) and it's hit or miss with support staff whether they will be able to help at all. This software might be useful for a mega-veterinary hospital but not suitable for your standard clinic. And if you're thinking of using their online resource (vetstreet), don't. The charges are ridiculous and they can't even set it up so that surgery patients get the correct time for their appointments.
