They destroyed my laptop, causing it to burst into flames (see photo). I brought my Mac laptop in for a battery change and when they opened it they said that the machine burst into flames. They said this sometimes happens, but I called Cornice, an official Mac repair shop, and they said that Apple has strict protocols that repair shops should follow in order to prevent ignition of the batteries, and clearly Computer Solutions did not follow them. They called me up and basically told me "sorry we burnt your computer". No offer for any compensation or anything, except an offer to help transfer the files to another computer (whoop-de-doo). I don't understand how they can look themselves in the eye and call themselves a repair shop or believe they are doing anything of ethical value. I should have known because there was a red flag when I dropped off the laptop: they ran some "diagnostic" program to see if there was anything they could find to suggest other issues besides the battery and she came back with a report on the screen that showed two disk drives.
She pointed out that there were a few minor errors on one of the drives, but I only have one drive and the drive with the error was obviously the flash drive she inserted into the laptop that contained the diagnostic program!!! Sheer incompetence. Never again. Will only go to official authorized Mac dealers from now on. I should have taken them to small claims court, but maybe I'd have gotten $1000 and not worth the time, effort, and attorneys fees, plus they could just try to hide behind the signed service order agreement that said I wouldn't hold them at fault for anything that went wrong. Not worth the effort, but definitely worth me warning the community not to go there. FYI I am a professor at CSUSB, not a bot or a competitor. this is a real review.

UPDATE to manager comment: this was 11 months ago but the details are not blurry at all, and my delay in this review changes nothing material to the situation. No one ever offered to replace the computer for me or to compensate me for the value of the computer, only to transfer the files from the recovered hard drive and refund the minimal deposit for the repair. The store rep callously suggested that I could try to sell the recovered parts, presumably on eBay or Craigslist, which is a non-solution. My priority at the time was getting back to work on a pressing deadline using a backup computer, not investing time and energy arguing with a repair shop, so I chose not to press the issue, particularly because it seemed clear to me that they were not interested in the only thing that mattered: compensating me for the computer they destroyed.

Excellent service with all my computer repairs. I just ordered a custom computer and new router through them. They came to my home and expertly installed everything. We did have one hitch with the router itself, but it was quickly replaced and everything was re-set and working. This is the very best service for computer repair I have ever received. I know I can count on them for whatever my computer needs are...it gives me peace of mind. I feel they are trustworthy and I appreciate their fine work ethic. Everything is done when promised. Do it all Computer stores have always been a little cringey to me. I’m not talking Geek Squad level cringe, but just a little...
I had a great experience at Computer Solutions on Monte Vista ave. Just below Foothill.
I had a couple problems trying to complete a task. The guy working there helped me beat a submission-deadline. I offered to pay for his expertise but he declined. Try that with the Geek Squad. The small business center has some excellent restaurants and a couple fast food joints. 5 Stars for all of it. Check it out next time.

Great company, it’s hard to find a computer store in general but the fact that this place is trustworthy and has a great welcoming environment is the reason I will always come back to them. I recently purchased a computer from a different company within a couple months I started having trouble with some of the hardware.
Every time I’ve been into computer solutions they’ve fixed my computer, what’s really great is most of the time if they don’t have to use any of their software or tools they will diagnose and help fix the problem without charge
Something you don’t see these days are why this company is trustworthy, family owned and operated you can see these people really carried that vibe over. I always feel like family with them A++ service.

Very polite people working here. They take the time to explain very detailed information to you on your specific issue, where others would only disclose cost and general idea of what's wrong. This is an upscale store with quite knowledgeable individuals working here. They operate in full transparency and don't just "take it to the back". In my case, they helped me right over the counter! Even had my laptop back up and running in 15 minutes. Great work guys, will be back. A+

Computer Solutions have assisted me many times over the last several years. They have worked on a couple laptops, set up my desk top, keep my virus software updated and also assisted me with several program issues.
