Das Laborgebäude des BIOS Center ist ein interessantes architektonisches Objekt. Die graue Backsteinfassade umschliesst einen Kubus, der 2012 durch die ArGe Harter + Kanzler Architekten erbaut wurde. Durch eine leicht unter das Dach zurückgezogene Glasfassade, das Mauerwerk auf der einen Seite abgeschrägt mit dem Glas verbindend, auf der andern Seite im 90° Winkel verlaufend, zeigt einen ansprechenden und repräsentativen Eingangsbereich. Raffiniert ist der Teil einer öffentlichen Erschliessungszone, die mit grossflächigen Verglasungen sich zum Außenraum und Innenhof öffnen lassen sowie mit Sonnensegeln sich überdachen lässt und so zu einem Versammlungsraum umgestaltet werden kann.
Das Haus zählt zu den modernen Objekten in Freiburg, die der Stadt architektonisch zukunftsweisende Impulse geben. Auch für Liebhaber von Architektur-Fotografie ein denkbares Ziel.
