My experience with the Carlsen Center dates back to my second semester at Sacramento State in 2022. During the first few weeks of the semester, I met AZ Nicdao while walking to class. He served as the president of the student entrepreneurship club, which works closely with the Carlsen Center. Since then, I have spent the majority of my free time on campus at the Carlsen Center, whether relaxing, studying, or seeking help with whatever I was up to. Cameron Law and Arlene Miranda always made the space feel like a second home to me. I graduated this semester, and my experience at Sacramento State was greatly enhanced by the time I spent at this center, whether participating in a Startup Challenge or just stopping by to say hello. The resources provided by the Carlsen Center staff truly made a difference in my life, and I am certain that they will continue to do so for many more students and community members in the future.

If you’re wondering if the Carlsen Center is worth stopping by, check it out yourself and spend some time with the community— it’s also right next to the Stinger Studio which is another great resource in and of itself.

I love the Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The faculty provides an environment for ideas to fruition into reality. Their support is astonishing. From personal experience, Camera Law (shoutout) has provided plentiful of resources and connections that have been extremely helpful to grasp many concepts that I cannot have learned else where. The support is one thing, but the networking opportunity is another. Being able to be connect with others whom may have different goals and are in different stages of their idea is a great way to receive value insight from these like minded people. This space is a community more than anything else.

This is a fantastic hub for creatives and entrepreneurs. People in the space motivate and inspire each other to keep going for their dream business. With the support of Jessi and Cameron, I've been able to overcome obstacles for starting my business plan. Not only that, but their location in the Sacramento State library creates a great space for self study and personal work. There will also be a maker space coming soon!

The location is down the hall from this location marker on google maps in room #1520. The people here are incredibly inviting, helpful, and brilliant. Cameron and Arlene are also amazing mentors helping to guide people towards their goals on their projects.

If you're looking to have a space to keep aligned to your project or to find a project that you want to join in on, this is the place to be at Sac State.
