I got 4 tickets with Museums for all and had an amazing experience with my family. It was easy to get our tickets in the booth and explore in the museum. We park for free close by and did a short walk. Its an incredible place for all ages. The planetarium is exciting and beautiful to be. Fun activities for toddlers and adults alike.

recently revisited the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park after not being back in San Francisco for over 10 years. I have fond memories of visiting this museum while I was stationed at Coast Guard Station Golden Gate, so I was excited to share it with my wife.

Since my last visit, we've traveled all over the world and seen many incredible museums. Upon returning, I was a bit taken aback by the significant cost of a day ticket per person, and even more so by the minimal military discount offered—it only provided a few dollars off, which didn't amount to much savings. Despite this, we decided to go ahead due to my nostalgic connection.

While the walkable dome is still incredible and offers a unique experience, I found that the rest of the museum didn't quite live up to my memories or the high admission price. The exhibits seemed less engaging, and overall, there was a feeling that something was lacking. For the cost of entry, I expected a more enriching and comprehensive experience.

In summary, while the California Academy of Sciences holds a special place in my heart, I was somewhat disappointed with this visit. If you're considering going, it might be worth weighing the admission price against what you hope to get out of the experience. For me, the cost versus what you receive was the main letdown.

I LOVED visiting this place. This was a recommendation from my boyfriend's family since I'm not from here and there was so many cool things. Navigation was straightforward, ton of cheerful staff, so much sightseeing. My favorite part was going to the Africa section and going into this one place and seeing fish animals in this dark area. Throughout the whole trip, I was really thirsty and the only downside was this place only selling RAIN water. There were water fountains, though. I didn't feel good during the whole outing, but it was so worth thugging it out.

One of the coolest science museums I’ve been to! You get a combination of a natural history, aquarium, and a planetarium theater. I really love the Amazon rainforest, the Philippines coral reef, the new California: State of Nature, and the Living Roof with views of Golden Gate Park and Sutro Tower. I love that there are so many things to see in several hours. I recommend it for everyone!

Wonderful time here. We came on black Friday, but it wasn't extremely crowded, but there were a few lines to wait for the exhibits. The rainforest dome and the ocean exhibits were our favorite. We went through each twice and the place has plenty of seating to just sit and enjoy. Buying tickets online earlier in the week was the way to go to avoid the entrance line.

Great interactive museum. There are many in San Francisco but this one is probably the best or top 3.

It is located in a central area of golden gate park next to the de young museum, the botanical gardens, and the Japanese tea garden. Also in close proximity to the clement & Irving districts with lots of food and entertainment.

The academy of science itself is a great place for children and adults to explore and play to their hearts and imaginations content.

Attractions:
Huge aquarium (which is think is better than the Monterey bay aquarium, and much closer if you are in the bay area).
There's a realistic (and very warm) rainforest habitat.
A planetarium auditorium with Hourly shows.
Live penguins, which they feed daily.
A living garden on the roof.
A cool earthquake simulation exhibit.
And much much more.

On some Thursdays they have night events with music and alcoholic drinks for adults.

Overall highly recommend this place, I've been coming here since I was a kid and now I bring my kids here.

Worth it. Kids had a great time. The staff are polite and knowledgeable and happy to explain things. The planetarium is huge from the inside. The cafes offer a range of foods. Special thanks to Ben who spent close to an hour teaching my kids about animals and showing various exhibits hands on which they absolutely loved.

Amazing! went to the Thursday night event. Walked around the whole museum. Get there early if you would like to check out the planetarium because i tried to enter after the line was smaller and it closed at 7:30. It was very lively, with good music and drinks. Had a great time!
