Go with your gut intuition if you ever need to deal with Tom and Paul. Be careful when considering giving them benefit of the doubt. They won't hesitate throwing you under the bus when someone is to be blamed. Tom has played a tremendous role in shaping the vision community at large but sadly at nearly 90, he's not all there anymore. I was and am still extremely disappointed in Tom Cornsweet both as a fellow scientist and a coworker.

As an Asian American in his 20's at the time, I got no respect from day one and was patronized by almost everyone on a weekly (if not daily) basis. Majority of coworkers were 60-90 years old white dudes, but whether or not that's the reason for my misery, I'll let the reader decide. Though they all convinced me they were experts in their respective lines of work, looking back now it's amazing how many rookie mistakes were made. For example, I'm an optical engineer and it took a year and a half for me to get approval to purchase ZEMAX and MATLAB to do my work. Not surprised that no products were delivered after burning through all the cash.
