This is an actual visitor center, not one of those that I try to sell you time shares, etc. Nice local people who seem to know what they are talking about. Good place to stop if you are actually looking to find out information and not just be sold tickets and timeshares

Have tons of information on the area and can help you come up with your itinerary while visiting. Their website also is very informative, I’d recommend looking at it before visiting for the first time.

Absolutely makes me sick the commercialization of the area. 30 yrs ago it was almost pristine and views were spectacular. Now it looks like a condemned construction zone and no real big names mostly "tribute" bands.

Very commercialized. I guess that since this is a tourist town, kind of a little Las Vegas of the ozarks, it probably should be though. I enjoyed the town, finding many attractions thanks to the visitors center.
