I was looking for an outdoor antenna. I called antennas direct. I spoke with Tom who looked over my situation and recommended two different types of antenna’s I could go with. I explained to him I was also looking at another antenna from a different company. I was gonna do some more research.
I called him back a couple times for more information. He answered all my questions was very knowledgeable and completed my sale. I received my antenna and equipment in two days highly recommend antennas direct and if you have questions, talk to Tom.

A long review, but hopefully helpful.

Everyone has a different situation, but Antennas Direct will do you right.

Benjamin helped me pick the updated/upgraded ClearStream 2MAX over the similar but older model Best Buy has, the ClearStream MAX-XR. Both have a 60 mile range.

I called Antennas Direct because I had a feeling Best Buy did not offer their full line of models. I was right.

Benjamin explained the upgraded/updated 2MAX has the option of buying a rear reflector (grill) to reduce interference and give added range, NOT possible with the MAX-XR.

Even if the inexpensive reflector helps moderately, that's ok. I'm saving $150 a month cutting my cable!

Benjamin really knows his stuff and offered a bundle price for the newer 2MAX *and* optional reflector at the same price as the older MAX-XR at my local Best Buy with no reflector.

I have 5 towers within 20 miles in mid city Los Angeles with a similar line of sight. I wanted the 60 mile range to maximize reception quality.

I mounted my 2MAX on my 2 story apartment roof on a 7 foot pole. My coax length is 75 feet. Photos below.

I wanted similar quality on MAJOR local stations/channels and PBS to my AT&T UVERSE over fiber. 95% of my viewing is Amazon Prime and Netflix.

I found *ALL* major local stations and PBS were just as good.

My 4 year old TV has an ATSC 1.0 tuner but most newer TVs have updated NEXTGEN TV ATSC 3.0 tuners built in. Google your model.

NEXTGEN tuner boxes are sold for older 1.0 TVs. I just bought one and connected my coax into it then an HDMI cable to my TV. NEXTGEN TV is going to expand, but today LA only has 6.

There are a number of 2nd tier or rerun stations that are marginal, NOT due to the antenna but due to broadcast resolution. My goal was great quality major stations, not reruns from long ago.

Old shows were not filmed in HD. A local 2nd tier rerun station uses only 480i. KTLA uses 720p over the air but 1080p for NEXTGEN, but not HDR. KNBC uses 1080i but their NEXTGEN is 1080p and HDR

Only 3 NEXTGEN stations are HDR currently.

It's NOT really noticeable, but its nice to have a little better quality in my opinion with NEXTGEN.

As mentioned earlier, I'm saving $150 per month. It may be noticible for fast moving sports; I dont know. Photos below on some examples of my NEXTGEN signal resolution.

There are websites you enter your zip code that list your over the air stations, if any are NEXTGEN ATSC 3.0, with tower distance and signal strength. Google DTV or OTA reception maps by zip code.

Antennas Direct has a tower finder on their website and Benjamin emailed me what direction to point my antenna with a satellite photo of my building!

Variables: broadcast frequency, broadcast equipment quality, broadcast resolution, broadcast signal compression and sharing (less is better), weather, living in a surban area, FM and cell tower electronic "noise pollution", trees, buildings, power lines, distance from transmitter tower(s), line of sight, position/height of your antenna be it inside or outside, roof or attic, mounted against an outside wall or free standing on a roof pole like me, length of coax (shorter is better), type of coax (better quality has less signal loss), use of a splitter (which causes signal loss), how old your TV is, etc., etc.

Benjamin did not recommend an amplifier for me as I'm fairly close to my tower and didn't split. Ask them if they recommend one and which type as they have many.

They also sell different quality coax depending how long your cable run is.

I may get another 2MAX just for my 2nd TV rather than splitting. Again, I'm saving $150 per month! Who cares.

Antennas Direct as the manufacturer has their complete product lines available and EXPERT customer service who know what to recommend as opposed to big box stores.

I had a wonderful help from Antennas Direct. Martin advised me on the type of antenna to buy, he even sent me a satellite photo of my roof, indicating the angles of my DB8-E antenna and the graphic of the position of the towers available in my region. With a compass and finding the best spot on my roof, I assembled and install the antennas with no problem whatsoever.
I recommend with no hesitation Antennas Direct for everybody needing an antenna.

First time diving into the OTA market and was very lost on what to look for. I spent more than a month doing research trying to figure out a setup that was cost effective yet capable in providing a solid solution.

The live contact system was the answer as I was directed to Tom who not only advised me on the optimal setup but went above and beyond my expectations by providing very detailed information on the difference between this and antenna or that one as well as provided guidance with photos on proper installation down to the best direction to face my antenna.

Never have I had this level of customer support from any company before. My only wish is they sold more things I need so I could this level of direction on other products.

If you are questioning things related to a project such as mine I cannot recommend antennas direct more. They will sort you out and assist way after purchase. You need not look anywhere else.

The product is superb, we now get great reception on mulitple channels vs. 8-10 channels with cable. The cost of your product was about 1/4 of our monthly cable bill!
Contacted a service person who talked me through the log on procedure in a very short time. Tom (service person) was very congenial and well mannered. He was very patient with me and obviously knows his job. Please put a "Gold Star" on his report card.

I purchased 3 of the ClearStream 4V Indoor/Outdoor TV Antenna with Mast. I installed one in my attic, one in my brother's attic, and one in my parent's attic. With the help of a great tech from Antennas Direct named Martin Lamb, I was able to get these installed in no time, and aimed perfectly. I used the Antenna Point app and it worked great. I picked up all 43 channels available in my area and don't even need an amplifier. I highly recommend this company! They are very prompt and so helpful! Included are photos of all 3 installs.
