I feel so lucky to have discovered this place as I happen to be staying nearby. Such a beautifully curated presentation of the history of Houston’s freedman’s town, with plenty of historic photos and stories. Follow this with ideal workspaces with great wifi and spotless restrooms. This really feels like a ‘must see’ for those visiting Houston.

Clean, quite, professional, and respectful.

The part that was so rewarding to me was the local side which displayed the freedom towns inside of the Houston area. Most people have no idea that Houston has over 3 freedom towns. 3rd, 4th, and 5th ward are all town establish by black Americans post enslavement.

Incredible legacy, history, and informative. I will be back to study, review, and research again.

I went here today and was just flooded with information and the history of this historic location! It's very enlightening to learn the history of a community you are in or that is nearby. Very eye opening and I would love to come back again and bring my girlfriend to learn more. I will have to sit and read a book in their non circulating library as well on my next visit!
