My wife and I joined Baltimore Hot Yoga and Wellness (BHYW) a little over a month ago.  I honestly did not anticipate I would stick with the program very long because I hate drastic heat.  I joined the practice and figured that after my 1 month trial, I would not renew my membership.  I have practiced hot yoga, Pilates, and other exercise programs on and off for about 9 years, but I have never continued longer than a year.  My longest continuous practice was at a hot yoga studio in Hunt Valley and Locust Point that has closed its doors.  In yoga, after a period of time I always started to feel the benefits of the heat, but never felt that I was improving and felt stuck in the same place so soon after I quit.
Since joining BHYW, for the first time, I am not only seeing the results on my body, but can feel the changes.  I'm starting to feel my joints open and expand.  I am sleeping better at night and have noticed great improvement in my lower back pain.  My golfer's elbow pain has mostly been resolved.  I attribute all the benefits so far to this studio, because rather than moving through postures from one to the next, most instructors take the time to explain each movement.
In her classes, with her extensive knowledge, Debbie often dissects the poses and explains how each student, especially those with limited knowledge such as myself, can improve by aligning the body or moving in a way to promote core stability and proper alignment.  In the classes instructed by Amanda, Gladys, Michelle, and Gavon, I have learned to make the adjustments required to prevent damage to my body by improper movement and positioning of my body within the postures.  In my experience, no other studio has provided the individual attention these instructors have been able to provide by being in tune with each student.

The love for teaching and yoga is obvious in many of the instructors in this studio because on more than one occasion, Amanda, Michelle, Gladys, and Gavon have taken the time, even when they were not working, to explain or demonstrate modifications I should make in order to improve my practice.
Joining BHYW has been one of the best decisions I have made. I recommend this studio for anyone who’s serious about making a life changing decision to live a long healthy life.

I've never taken a hot yoga class before and practicing at this studio has me hooked! The vibes inside this place are great. The instructors are very knowledgeable and kind. The place is always clean. I always feel amazing sweating everything out and coming out of the classes rejuvenated. A nice bonus is the cool lavender-scented towels you get at the end. Will always love coming here.

I love love love this place. This has been my safe haven for a little over a year. My favorite teachers are Gavon and Randie ❤️ but all the other instructors bring something different to each class which I adore. Doing yoga has helped drastically with injuries from my accident. Thank you to the awesome staff they are all very friendly and informative.

I came back to try 26&2 and then Cardio Barre Core classes after not taking class at this studio for several years - amazing! The instructors are great, and the classes are challenging but built for all levels. For some reason several of the barre and yoga studios in the area now only offer 45 minute classes so I was happy to be able to take a full yoga and barre class. Will definitely be going back.
