I found this place by accident - or with divine intervention. Although my Mom goes to their satellite Stuart office, I can attest to their dedication and caring for both the family and patients.

Hi,
My mum has a memory problem she was diagnosed with dementia and now the doctor in our homeland doesn’t seem sure and says he wants to retest.
My question is, is the clinical trial affordable if you don’t have insurance?
Is it a three/six month period?
Can someone share an idea of the cost please?

It was a great experience we coming here. They were all so grateful for me dedicating my time. This is a great research that many or everyone should participate in. Yes, many people think that maybe it's better to not know but coming from a place of experience that my dad is currently going through this horrible disease if there is help for you before you confront the disease why wouldn't you want to know if you have the amyloid? I highly recommend this place!!

My husband is currently participating in a clinical medication trial at this facility. The physicians, medical personnel, counseling staff and examiners are all top notch It is the most professionally run medical facility I have ever seen. Dr. David Watson who runs the place is highly credentialed, compassionate, and careful. The ambiance is lovely and comforting and the staff is kind, patient, well-trained and informed, We are fussy people and we cannot find a thing to complain about - in fact, there are not enough words at my disposal to adequately laud this Research and Testing Center. Patients and caregivers are treated with respect and appointments run on time. One feels as though they are being welcomed into a gracious home or family setting and EVERY staff member is careful, pleasant and considerate. We have learned a lot about from them about this horrible disease and are getting help, support and encouragement. We are fortunate to have this available in our area!!!!

I passed this brand new building as it was being built and wondered what it would become. It is in the same shopping center as Trader Joes, Designers Touch Jewelry etc.

I called them because sometimes I have a hard time remembering a word. I noticed it happening more recently than it did 5 years ago.

They are a research facility and there is no out of pocket charge to you. They get their money should you qualify for any of their clinical trials. They told me the test would take about 90 minutes but I was in and out in about an hour.

You sign in and wait. I was greeted by Diana, and she walked me back to her office. She was very nice and the one who asked most of the questions. The questions ranged from drawing something that they showed me (no artist skills needed here) to counting from 100 backwards and naming the 7th #. Example, 100 then 93, then 86 etc. Math has never been a strong point of mine and I had to actually use my fingers lol.

Then came the tough part where I though I surely failed and I was going to forget my husband and mother! They give you a list of words that have nothing to do with each other and you have to repeat as many as you can remember. She does that same list 5 times. Each time you are to repeat as many as you remember, even the ones you previously repeated.

Then she tells me that I to now go sit with the Dr. (good lord, what did I get myself into I am thinking) Then Dr. Thomas sat with myself and another Dr (can't remember his name) and asked me some more questions. What did you have for dinner, certain dates and anniversaries, medication I am on etc. Then he went over the test. I tested in he "Normal" range for someone my age. I asked things I can do to help improve memory and he said what any typical Dr might say. Get a good nights sleep, try to not have stress, eat a good diet, do more exercise etc. But then he said : learning a new language, or joining a book club is good because he isn't just about cramming stuff into your brain, it is about what you can pull back out of it. That advice right there is probably the most useful information I could have ever been told! I figured, I read books, I am good. But I do not discuss them with others or attempt to pull the memories back out!

All in all it was a great place and an informative visit. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is this is covid times and employees kept holding the elevator door for more employees. There was 6 people in an elevator that in itself was probably only 6 feet X 8 feet.

The other reason is the 2 older women telling me I can not take photos because everything needed to go through corporate and I cant take photos of patients. I was the only one there and no people photos were taken. They seemed like they might have been managers or something but in no way were they friendly at all. Everyone else I met there was super nice.
