After years with Schwab, it has become clear they want to ditch the very clients who helped build the company and cater to only the very rich. As of the beginning of the year, they completely desecrated monthly written statements for clients. They have made such information completely unintelligible. Ditto for online monthly statements. I believe the company is aware that people are upset and displeased with such communication but Schwab just doesn’t seem to care. Because I am no longer able to decipher my funds, I am being forced to find another brokerage firm where company communication is recognized as a tool to client success for everyone

I have always had great success with the agents at the main numbers for Schwab. However, my most recently-assigned Financial Consultant/VP feels free to email me in an unprofessional and adversarial manner. He uses all caps in his emails to me, ridicules me, fabricates "facts," and disputes what the agents at the main number have researched, found, and reported. Disappointing.

I talked to someone named Ryan Peterson and I was blown away by his professionalism and his ability to resolve my issue. He was quick, efficient and extremely helpful! I feel confident in my choice of Charles Schwab and their employees!

Terrible customer service via phone. I tried to close an account with a ZERO balance. They would not do it without a verbal password? I write everything down and did not know this password. They refused to verify who I was another way. Absolutely ridiculous for a zero balance account!!!

i'm with one of people below on love hate. today i HATE chas schwab. I have been a customer for 30 years and yesterday i received an email telling me they are retiring the trading app i have used for the last 10 plus years and replacing it with ameritrade's think or swim as of close tomorrow. They basically gave me one day to transfer and learn an entirely new platform which i already knew i didn't like. Their communication and care for their customers is deplorable. i was told they sent out emails in both May and June which i never saw. none of these emails were marked urgent. they never physically mailed me anything and can't or wont' do anything in delaying this transfer. Victoria Seccret sends me more notifications about bras on sale. I would think someone who is the caretaker of my money would be sending out an email at least once a week to alert their clients of a major change. No one i've spoken to over the last several months ever mentioned i would be losing my platform and i should learn the new one. Managers i spoke to today didn't know the answer to simple questions -- is this compatible with a Mac? these guys are the most indifferent in taking their client needs into consideration and actually notifying them of Major changes to their account. I get a flash alert on a holiday. i would think removing my trading platform should be at least warrant that kind of notification. Shame on you Chuck Schwab!!! I know you've got your millions/billions but you should have more respect for those of us who helped you get that money. I feel totally dissed by you and your company. Perhaps they feel more comlacent given they just took out a major competitor. I'm off to check out fidelity.

The professionalism is low. The associate I talked to named Brandon Dwyer couldn't wait to get off work to go drinking with his buddies.

Schwab Traders beware.
Schwab self trading platform will deceive you. It will allow you to make a trade and then change the price on you. I have called multiple times, and they continue to do nothing about it. After I executed a trade at a certain price on the platform, the system changed the price to show a loss. It was not always obvious or easy to catch. But it would debit my account. Since I discovered this, I looked back at my account and now suspect up to 10s of thousands of dollars have been changed from what would have been gains the way I entered the trade, to loses of differing degrees, after the system changed the price. Please understand that this is not just a mathematical error. This is real. It is an ongoing process. Lots of people who trade on Schwab could be susceptible. Watch every trade you make as if there is a problem. There certainly may be, with the Schwab platform.

NEW UPDATE

Charles Schwab now has a new and improved App.

I have not seen very much inprovement, although there are a few. After a trade on the app I still have to call, make them aware of the error. The app is still changing the lot/lots of the trade. This could result in a loss and in turn a wash sale. They are not clear on marking wash sales on your profile. And could lead to ongoing losses. This has been happening for years that I am aware of with no change. I am still trying to understand exactly where the money deducted from my account goes to when this happens and I dont catch it before settle date. I am just guessing now, but I am pretty sure Charles Schwab Co deposits the money taken from my account into their account. Could this be the reason the application has not been fixed. To be fair and accurate, I always look at things from multiple points of view. So maybe the company is not aware of this failure, this failure on the trading platform with Charles Schwab's name on it. What I know is, my calculator, logs, and account show me there is a problem with the platform.

There have been other changes to the app.
Changes with, the way I have done thing in the past are no longer allowed. The changes mostly seem to limit my options. One of these changes associated with the bid/ask. I have been seeing pre-market vs current price correlation at an extremely distant valuation. While not a direct to Schwab issue, I am trying to understand why the system will not allow me to execute such a distant bid/ask vs current price trade, as I am seeing more often in the pre-market. The distance so great it creates a locked stock effect. The potential loss of and current unreasonable transit into and out of the position due to a stale bid/ask is at very least a level of unreasonable limitation. I do not see this particular situation as volatility.

I welcome and look forward to direct communication with any representative of the company. I agree to the contact methods listed in my account.

Love hate relationship with Schwab - their online trading platform is great but more and more login issues during trading hours is UNACCEPTABLE - when tens of millions of people cannot execute trades because they cannot log into the web app platform, that inexcusable.

ThinkOrSwim is such a great platform but it too is starting to suffer from updating issues and login technical difficulties on their end.

When you are dealing with hundreds of billions of dollars traded on a daily basis, your software needs to be milspec or better - none of this 'let the consumer due the beta testing for us to cut costs - NO! This is financial warfare and your tools MUST BE BATTLE READY!
