As a physician that deals with terminal diseases such as cancer, I find many patients and families unprepared for end of life issues. Burial and cremation can be extremely expensive and overwhelming. SWIBA offers patients and families an opportunity to be cremated at no cost and help with the advancement of science. SWIBA provides a compassionate and professional services to Arizona families.

I donated my husband's body to SWIBA. I viewed it as a huge gift of love to give my beloved's body to science. I can think of nothing more valuable. But SWIBA is run like a business and certainly not a business reflecting human compassion. I would have thought or hoped that I would have received notice that my husband's body was picked up and arrived "safely" and how much they appreciated the donation. All I received was paperwork to complete for the death certificate. I called 2 or 3 times to find out what to expect, what the process was, how and where to deliver the urn. Each time I called, there was absolutely no compassion or appreciation. When I picked up my husband's ashes today, again no compassion or appreciation. They gave me the urn and had me sign a form. I don't even think they said thank you or expressed any appreciation at that point. I would never do this again, nor would I recommend it for others, unless you are OK with viewing death a compassionless business.

It was a hard decision donating my fathers remains to SWIBA, but I know how important it is for medical researchers to use these parts to study. I felt very comfortable with this company and felt they were very professional and understanding with families grieving. I just read an article about a Phoenix company similar to this one, who got into trouble selling body parts and dismembering bodies. I immediately felt a sense of relief that SWIBA was the company we choose, and felt compelled to leave a 5 star review. Thank you to all the staff who took care of us during this time.
