This library is everything!!!
I walked in the first day last week and I loved how homely it felt, I wish I could join their book club; I have to make it work with my job.
They have a huge selection of books!!! Also a great place for kids whatever age, secluded area to study or just relax.
Knowing there is a local library makes my moving down here the best decision ever!

Phone recording states they open at 9 am Saturdays.
Arrive at 9:45 not open. Look online and says they are closed all weekend. Wait awhile researching and several cars show up at 10:00. They say they saw online it was open today. No hours are posted front or rear. What library cannot get their hours straight and communicate them? No wonder it looks exactly the same as it did 25 years ago.
Time for a facelift and better hours. Athens has grown and we need an active and Open library!

This library is very children friendly,has a partial second story and a skylight. The librarians are all super friendly, as well.

The library is a hidden gem in Henderson County. Best selling books immediately available for loan, great books for sale for $1. Great resource for answers for general questions in the County.
