My wife attends school here 4 days out of the week. This is her first semester and so far it’s been a pretty nice school. We had zero problems with the tuition office nor did we have any problems with the enrollment process. I see others on here talking about ‘meth’ and how far behind they are with technology, but that simply hasn’t been our experience. It’s a nice, clean campus with friendly and capable staff members. They seem to be doing well with handing the virus crisis. Nice College.

I loved it! The school is great. Very nice people everywhere. My son played basketball here. We loved his coaches. This little town has lots of support. They become family real fast.❤️❤️❤️

Really nice staff, but are so behind on financial aid it's ridiculous. They're down 3 people which is like 50 percent of where they're supposed to be and it's dragging out the loan process till halfway through the semester. Also, cengage and their new system that replaced blackboard are terrible. The quality and accessibility of this place has gone down hill.

Went and picked up my gold card for seniors and signed up for from arrest to trial. Great service for seniors. Everyone one was very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to doing more at TVCC campus in AthensTX.

Maps had me park on the opposite side of campus from the administration office. That being said, it did not have me park in one of the many lots requiring a permit. This I know for a fact since a campus cop was making the rounds when I got back to my vehicle and did not give me a ticket or fine.

They have a great IT department that has a wonderful work study program. I've learned so much attending school here. All of my credits are going to transfer to UTD next semester. I am extremely happy with what I have gained by going here. I would give a five star buuuuut the financial aid staff can be very rude!

This school is extremely difficult to work with, they are WAY behind the times, and most of the office staff I've delt with don't seem to even want to help or be there in the first place. I've been blown off by too many people to count when trying to get questions answered, and honestly I still don't have answers to most of the questions I've asked them.

They are my local school so I'm stuck with them, but honestly I'm at the point where I'd rather just pay the extra and drive to Tyler. It's not worth the frustration to try to dance around people who don't want to do their job.

I have been attending TVCC since the Summer of 2017. The first issue I had was an advisor putting me in the wrong classes for my degree plan. Luckily another advisor got me on the right course and she was absolutely great and the only one I would go to. Unfortunately the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I tried finishing my classes but the chemo was pretty rough so I ended up having to drop. I went and talked to the financial aid office but was only given basic information when I told them I was having some medical issues. Granted I should have been more open about what was going on with me but it was still new to me and I didn't want to blurt out what was going on to everyone within earshot as I had not started losing my hair yet. Summer comes around and I wanted to start back since the new chemo I was on wasn't that bad. Well after I enrolled and was told my financial aid was approved and processed I got a letter stating that I owed money to the school and would be dropped from the class because of this balance. Several people told me this was the practice and that the balance would have to be paid before I could attend. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN! I wasn't dropped and it was paid for by Fasfa. So now I owe money and have an F on my transcript. I had a 3.46 GPA before all of this. I did receive a scholarship to pay for the first balance which Dr. Kinzer worked to get me and I greatly appreciate it. The first instance I will take some blame for but the second one is not my fault! I'm fighting for my life right now and shouldn't have to be worried about all of this. Tvcc has some good people but it is a mess and it doesn't feel like everyone is there for the students. If you go to TVCC you better know everything about financial aid or contact Fasfa to find out there guidelines for sickness and emergency situations.
