Beautiful setup. Public-accessible parts of the building have interesting information to learn presented cohesively and in an appealing manner. Displays exhibit trees hundreds upon hundreds of years old, including references to world history so even the most casual viewer can appreciate the beauty of tree-ring research.

This is a world class center for the study of tree rings. The science of it was started here (dendrochronology) for one thing, and it continues to be active academically at many levels. They offer free browsing on the ground floor, which is worth a bit of time by itself, but if you can contact them for information on the periodic free guided tours which existed pre-pandemic. Contact them to see if they still do this, for a look at the other levels, labs, archives, etc. Enlightening on many levels.

This place is amazing. Very few places on Earth have these amazing specimens and quality artifacts. I never knew how valuable The University of Arizona was to society until I toured this place. If you care about the Planet, water conservation, trees and climate change, then you should be here. Now.
