Stopped in to get some eggs and a few other things. Apparently no one checks the eggs before putting them out. Every 18 pack of Food City Large eggs had broke eggs in the cartons. $8.69 for a carton with broke eggs. I finally got tired of looking for a carton that wasn't broke. This is what they looked like. I just went to Walmart.

Fine for boxed canned or packaged items. Fruits and vegetables are not fresh and usually at the end of the usable life.

Stays fairly busy especially on Sunday's. The frozen section for the most part is better than the local Walmart but usually costs a little more

This store is definitely your good ole neighborhood store. Prices arnt bad and normally they have decent sales. The meat department however tends to leave little to be desired. Store is clean just a touch outdated. The staff by the majority are polite and professional.

I go to Food City for fresh veggies and fruits. The prices on these items are more than Walmart but it's worth it to get vegetables that last longer than a few days. If you go on Thursdays they have the "Get Five for $7" deal. It's usually for pre-packaged vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, etc.
The store is always clean when I've gone there and not cluttered up with stock in the aisles or those big online shopper carts. I'm glad we still have Food City in town.

This is my home store and I love it. Fast friendly staff, good prices and service. They have a great selection and everything is always well stocked. Also, the deli and bakery items are delicious!

Food City in my area never seems to be up on common technology, even their own. Their discount cards work poorly, management seems puzzled that customers would like more from them than, "I don't know how that works, I don't know how to do that" etc.

I hear a number of people comment on that sort of performance from them.

Prices also seem quite out of line with local stores such as Independent pharmacies, gas stations and Walmart.

Overall, just not a great experience almost any time you shop there.

Gave me the wrong fried chicken pieces at the deli and I didn't notice until we got home. The clerk was rude and the prices are so high!
