My time at NAU was the worst two years of my life. First, the film department is so dysfunctional about how they want to teach their classes, and have favoritism written on their foreheads. Second, the school does not care about mental health or mental health resources, because they would rather prescribe you a drug than help you with your problems. Third, the school, Dean of Students and President actively suppresses free speech and free assembly, despite pretending they are pro 1st Amendment. I didn't know it was okay for a university to call state troopers as well as local police to use tear gas, excessive force and putting their students in jail simply because they wish to speak their mind. Do not enroll in this university otherwise you might end up roughed up by the police if you're not right wing or part of Turning Point.

Best abroad studying experience! Major in HRM, classes and faculties are way better than other majors. Tons of career opportunities, nice dining and living environment.
Study business here, and they won't let you down.

They have a beautiful and spacious campus. Thats where the enjoyments ends. Out of the 20 professors I had 2 of them were great educators. That means on average there is a 90% issue with bad staffing. Go here if you want a bad education. I would say they are the worst university in the State of Arizona by far. The community colleges have higher quality teachers and the quality of information is better. Community colleges also offer bachelors degrees for those wanting a higher quality education. Do your research before going here. Hope this helps someone.

While I had some good teachers while I was there, there was a majority of teachers who didn't seem to even care. It's a beautiful campus but the school only cares about taking your money and they don't provide you the help you need to succeed academically. They've accepted more students than they can handle, if you want to get accepted and not have a good place to live and want to feel overlooked or unheard than this is the school for you.

NAU is a terrible institution at all facets. Curriculum, campus life, and even the weather are all subpar. For a campus that is in one of the snowiest cities in America, the infrastructure and maintenance do not even come close to adequate. Often times you’ll have no other option than to walk through deep snowbanks or puddles. My time at NAU has been anything but pleasant and I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy.

There are very friendly people here, however the nonsensical regulation and authoritarian policy’s permeates throughout the campus. Not to mention the confusing, expensive parking permits and strict parking enforcement. I attempted to attend a NAU football game but was unable to because I committed the unconstitutional crime of bringing my backpack in. They will let in any other carrying accessory, except backpacks, due to “safety concerns.” If this was truly a safety concern, then why didn’t they search my backpack when I offered? It’s because they were exposed for being frauds. There was never a safety concern, merely a financial concern. Screw this school and screw their moronic parking and “safety” policies.
