Update: Legacybox’s response to my request for a full refund is, “Please be aware that, although I understand your disappointment, we will not issue a full refund.” They refunded $38.51 out of $385.14….so 10%. Legacy box decided that a 10% refund was the way to “make this right.” I believe a full refund isn’t even going to make it right, but I believe a full refund is the least they could do after returning my photos the way they did and damaging my photos.

DO NOT USE LEGACYBOX to scan your photos. I ordered the Legacybox for 5,000 photos. I packaged all my photos exactly as instructed. When I received my photos back, the box the photos had been returned in was practically destroyed. The 5,000 photos had just been thrown into the shipping box with very little to protect them. The bags I sent them in (Legacy bags) were not sealed shut. They were not put into any other box for protection except the shipping box. Many of my pictures had damaged corners when returned. Photos and video attached. Take a look for yourself…do you want your memories treated like trash? In addition, when I called LegacyBox to speak with a manager/supervisor, I was told I had to wait for a call back and that they don’t make calls after 5. I teach and don’t take calls during class time, so I asked for a call back at 11 AM during my prep. The call never came. I called Legacybox again. I was given another time that the supervisor would try to call me by…the call never came. Finally got a call back. In my opinion, the lady that called me really could have cared less. Every department at Legacybox dropped the ball….scanning, shipping, customer service, supervisor, manager.

As good as it gets for taking film and converting to digital or cloud...the quality of my files/movies is above and beyond....taking memories in film and converting our memories such that I can send to friends and relatives - thank you...the instructions were very clear...the box - thank you...the stickers for tracking each reel of film....and the honest - one reel could not be converted - great

I purchased 40 items on sale from legacybox. They shipped me a box to ship tapes back to them. However, instead of having 40 barcode stickers, they included 54. My wife filled up the box with 54 VHS tapes and shipped it. She did not see the tiny printed $17.99 on the 14 additional tiny barcode stickers. They emailed me an invoice for an additional $250+. I called and told them to ship everything back to me and to refund all of my money. They said that they couldn't do that. I asked for an address and said that I would drive and pick them up. They wouldn't let me do that either. I got scammed!

The DVDs and thumb drive that I received are of worse quality than my originals. One wasn't even viewable, one was left blank and the overall quality of everything was poor. I reached out to Legacy Box and the only way to receive a refund of any sort is to email an example and return my originals so they can try again. I will have to eat the cost on this one. I'm so disappointed that a company with good reviews and recommendations would turn out products of such bad quality.

In the early 80s I spent some time in Japan. While I was there I appeared on some TV shows. I had them on a VHS tape, which I sent to Legacy Box. They charged me, returned the tape, and then told me it was up to me to get a release allowing them to handle the data. Get a release for a 40+ year old Japanese soap opera?!?!?!? No refund or credit, and the (other) tapes they COULD process were AWFUL (I have since had them redone, beautifully, by an AV nerd at a local high school. AVOID LEGACY BOX!

I sent Legacy box 6 8 mm movies from years ago and 14 reel to reel tapes to be digitized. After waiting about a month which they said it was going to take I received my stuff back there was only six video tapes digitized I could not find the 14 audio tapes. I contacted Legacy box and after a weekday found my audio tapes on this server and they put them to the cloud. What I got was a mess. They claim that they monitor the digitizing which is false reel to reel audio tapes can be at the end of the tape on the reel. The digitized the tapes backwards. The talk a good game but they don't do what the say. If someone was monitoring the process they would have seen it and not digitized them backwards.

I sent 40 8mm tapes. When I received my order approximately 1/2 my order was unwatchable. The videos were shaky with shaky audio. I've sent countless emails asking if they could maybe adjust tracking so the tapes would not be shaky. After approximately 6 requests...I've heard nothing.
The lack of response from customer service is unprofessional. Even if they tell me it's a faulty tape... that's better than no response at all.
It's stated in their description that each tape is inspected for quality and ability to transfer. Obviously, this isn't correct since I have 1/2 an order of shaky videos.

I bought my father the most expensive package as a birthday gift to convert all of the priceless family videos. We were so excited to get them all back any the quality we got back is HORRENDOUS, it’s like a bunch of high school kids who didn’t know what they were doing did this. On the drive there are over 2hrs of unplayable video on each of the files. The original tapes work better than any of these files. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Thought I was supporting a local company..
