This feels more like a 'mom-and-pop' shop than what I recall the brand Kodak used to stand for.
I sent 2 tapes to be digitized, but they weren't converted. One was apparently "moldy" (even though it works fine on my VCR), and the other one (a Betacam) they could not convert, as they only convert Betamax (even though both are 1/2-inch magnetic Sony tapes with helical-scan read mechanisms, with NTSC/PAL encoding - so, similar yet incompatible). The latter was my mistake, I'll admit, for not checking with them first.
However, after emailing them asking for my $60 refund (since they won't automatically refund you), they only refunded me 40 bucks! I understand $10 is for shipping (which can still take 2+ weeks to arrive, even though they claim "6-8 days"), but I have no idea where the rest went. Maybe they charged me $10 just to open up the box and put the tapes back inside? Who knows.

I do NOT recommend them; use a local converter instead. They might be slightly "more" costly, but at least they'll charge you for actual work done.

I am beyond thrilled and am crying happy tears seeing my family ( some have passed) and be able to share all of our videos with our children and grandchildren. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I have attempted to digitize some older 8mm film with a couple of local companies in Austin. Both were a waste of money and time. KODAK's discounted offer and my comfort level with a brand name made KODAK one of my best decisions to preserve these treasures. The process was simple, and I had a few questions that were not clear to me. They were addressed and resolved in a timely and understandable help response. I went with the download version (mp4) and could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend KODAK Digitizing services and I will be sending another round of reels to get transferred. Thanks

I have had two different sets of film digitized and I've been extremely pleased. Some of the film was reel to reel from the 1920s and it came out beautifully! Kodak had a lot of work with what I sent them and they did a great job. I sent reel to reel, 8mm, VHS and slides. I was kept informed all along the way and was so happy with the final product. I highly recommend Kodak and have done so to several friends and family. If we find more films, I will definitely be sending them to Kodak!

Fabulous! Simply Fabulous!! 16mm film from the early 40's and 50's that had been locked away since the 70's available for everyone to share!! Memories of grandparents, parents, and other love ones revived and past to the next generation and their children to meet for the first time in motion picture form. I am SO glad I took a chance.
Great customer service, they were with me every step of the way. From the original box within a box that assured safe delivery, to the great organizational stickers provided to account for every film, the process was flawless.
35 years ago, when I first looked into having these precious reels transferred (to VHS, no less), it was around $30 per canister. No way could we afford to consider the 40+ films we had. Kodak is reasonably priced, especially when you consider the precious cargo they are entrusted with.
My hearty advice is DO IT!!! You will be thrilled, and so will your kids.

This was such a good experience. The communication all the way through until my order was ready was top notch. It took a little while but you knew what was happening due to the communication emails. I had about 20 old tapes from an old Sony recorder and wanted to get them all done before I lost or misplaced them. I had read reviews on other companies and none were as good as Kodak. Then my 20 year old son said mom , kodak knows cameras I think they would be the best company to use. He was correct , everything came back great. I ended up getting downloads and a thumb drive. Would highly recommend this service.

This was a wonderful experience. Didn't take as long as I was warned it would. Quality was good (especially since the VHS tapes were old). The shipping and receiving were easy. So easy in fact that we will be sending more tapes their way ... and later some photos. It's not cheap, but these are memories for my wife who is now blind and wants to hear the voices that were on tape as I describe the scenes to her. A terrific service.

Be patient with the service, My old films were 50 (and more) years old, so being a little patient at this point was well worth it. They were able to digitize some reels that could not be shown with a projector. We are extremely happy! So Much so that I ordered the package to do an additional bunch of film reels.
