Worked at NISC for over a year and a half. It is a small company with no room for advancement. In my time there they were constantly doing structural changes and there is no flexibility in scheduling since it is similar to a call center type of job where your on the phone supporting members all day. In addition to being on the phone all day, they have a 24/7 After Hours phone you should be aware of to plan to have 7-14 days straight when your on call. This is not your typical Monday - Friday job and often times when your on call plan to work overtime and get no sleep. They also were not flexible with time off and you often got denied your PTO time to take that. Overall, it is an okay job out of college, but not much past that if you really want more than a call center type job. The pay is on the lower side as well. Overall, there was nothing positive about this job and management doesn’t care about their employees whatsoever. They also are known for letting people go with no notice since they are on the smaller side if they don’t have the budget and they got a new CEO at the beginning of 2020, so lots of changes. Beware before you work here especially if you have a family.
