I’ve had a great experience at this school. The process to get enrolled and set up is a drag and the school isn’t very helpful. My first advisor set me behind in my degree and put me in a class that isn’t even a credit for my degree. Once I got past the enrollment process, I experienced a really great education program. My professors care about me, they make an effort to know me, and they’re hands on with my learning process. I chose to go to the Forest Park location. Parking is rough some mornings, you gotta know where to go to find a spot. I do wish there was more security, maybe a student id to get into the building. I recommend this school! It’s affordable and is in a great location for young adults. A selection of activities and trendy restaurants nearby.

I started off at this school years ago and you have very few teachers that care about the students, years later guess what it's still the same way, so this has to start from the top and the people that they hire at these schools. We pay to receive our education, which is an exchange, we the students pay and the teachers receive the salary for the job that they do not do. Your job is to deliver what you know to the students, sad to say it may be 10% of the teacher do that. I had a great English teacher just excellent, a great psychology teacher that it. The good teachers get up out of Saint Louis community college. If the teachers got paid by what they deliver to the students more students would learn something, because the teachers will deliver what they suppose to in order to get their pay check. It's about the pay check and not the people. This would be another Idea, the students only pay if they learn something. This have been an horrible experience up in this school but if you really want it you have to keep fighting for it. The science and math department is horrible and the teachers, their is loop holes in the system and they need to check in on this department even from the top. They sit in those offices like a god and do not focus on the students but just taking up a sit because it is available, what is the point, my heart goes out to the generation that is soft spoken you will get anything at these schools. The advising department is lazy and uninterested on their job as well, they are not friendly and their faces show that they are not interested at all in anything that has to do with that job. They wait until your last semester is over and graduation to tell you what you need, and after your graduation, to go on to your new level which sets you back two semester. I am shock that the government pays to waste money at this organization. It felt like a funeral at the graduation that was horrible as well, the music they played and the speech they gave was just horrible and they let us out by the dumpster when the graduation was over and we had to walk for 15 minutes to get around to the front of the building, I am disappointed in this whole experience, think twice before going to any of the saint Louis community colleges.

Communication is lacking and the people who do answer the phones cannot answer your question correctly. I was told I MUST enroll in a class in order for my FAFSA form to be approved (false). I then asked if I enroll - and something happened with my FAFSA and I needed to drop the classes - what was the deadline for 100% refund - I was told they do not offer 100% refunds, that I would have to pay SOMETHING (also false). I was told there was no way around enrolling without my official transcripts on file (also false). A lot of the information I called to ask about - I had to find myself online. Calling in did me absolutely no good. Which is sad because I spoke to the director of the program that I am enrolled in and she is amazing and has her stuff together. My advice? Skip the call - and just find the information yourself, because what they tell you over the phone is most likely incorrect.

Also - filling out the FAFSA - nobody was able to help me. I was told I didn't need my HS transcripts, then told I do, then found a something online that says I don't (but I already paid). Now I'm waiting (started FAFSA process 8/15) and they cannot guarantee that my FAFSA will be processed by 9/16 so I can buy my books. How are students doing this? You will need $500-$600 or more just to get books out of pocket because apparently it will take them around a month or longer as they are inferring to process.

This college needs an overhaul of their work force and some retraining there is A LOT of misinformation that is being fed to students.

This has been the worst experience for my son and his family to struggle through with this college (Forest Park). From day one I was made to believe that they would help and offer resources to make sure he was successful. I can say that the experience i expected was not what we received. Worst of all you could not tell this just by walking through the door. The very main problem is the teachers lack of organizational skills, and the medial staff. From those that are in a position to engage with students on a daily basis to staff in higher rolls, all need a class in attitude. They are always rude and treat students as if they’re basic, because they are at this school. I would never ever advertise or encourage anyone to attend, even those i have no relationship too. That environment needs a motivational cleansing and replacement of many people. Just so we are clear, my son has two parents with a degree and 1 sibling with a Masters’ degree and another with her BSN degree. Don’t assume my son had a sketchy background or lacked a supportive home life. Do Better!

Great college! The teachers of my classes have all ranged between good and excellent, with the one exception being a German teacher. The cost is a tiny fraction of most colleges. I don't understand all the complaints from some posters about communicating with the administration or signing up for classes - just go to the campus and the people there will take care of you! My experience with the administration has been flawless when I appeared in person on campus, and signing up for classes is easy online. This place is a gem!

The actual programs aren’t bad but it is absolutely impossible to get a hold of advising. They don’t answer the phone, their chat function on the site is turned off, and it can take up to a month to get an email answered. I have experienced them turning me away at the door to the office as well, so you can’t pop in to get a question answered. The wait time at their office is quite long. My degree program was discontinued without notice and they switched my track, invalidating a ton of credit hours. When I finally managed to get a hold of someone, they told me that they would escalate the issue to their manager and that I would receive a phone call same day or the next day. It has since been over a week. I have called, emailed, everything I know to do and have not been able to get through. Teacher quality is only one part of the college experience, another really important thing is how administration handles issues and this honestly could not have been fumbled any worse. I am out tons of credit hours and money because they didn’t think my future was worth the three minutes it would have taken to send and email. Will not be attending this institution any longer, I’m done.

my experience here was awful. I waited serval hours just too take my placement test. And I’m still waiting. The testing staff weren’t very helpful at first. I took an hour for me to get actual help for the center. 0 outta 10 wouldn’t recommend.
