I searched for a long time and was unable to find anyone, anywhere in the U.S. that was willing to sew a complex prototype bag that was part of a large mechanism. When I finally stumbled across Sewing Incubator, and met with Rocio and her team, I knew immediately that I found a great R&D partner. I built a CAD model of the bag and Rocio was able to make a pattern and sew the bag to my exact specifications. After that, I worked with Sewing Incubator on a second prototype and had the same great experience. I highly recommend Rocío and the SI team, you won’t be disappointed!

Where do I start (Major FRAUD Alert). I found Rocio and her company via yelp which I have trusted for years. I use Yelp to find businesses to work with, restaurants to eat at, and just about everything in between. I have faith that the companies that are reviewed by them are legitimate and trustworthy.

Sadly, this was not the case after over 8 months of dealing with Rocio and her company. My company is in the fashion and design business, and I had enlisted and trusted in Rocio and her team to create 600 garments for me of high quality and design. I paid up front ($10,000) for the specialty fabric and enlisted her team of designers to embroider the logos and lettering of my brand. I also sent weekly payments of $2000-$3000 as requested for two changes, and continued printing of my garments. As this went on for 8 months, I would check in weekly and started noticing push back. Every conversation I had, the garments were delayed one week, then another, then another.
At first Rocio’s team got COVID, then they had to take a one-month vacation, then the printer had to resent the press for specialty fabric, then her Dad was in the hospital (this wouldn’t be the first time this line was used), and the weather all affected my order’s completion.

Finally, after 8 months of ZERO product, 1 sample sample, and a life savings spent on my company’s dream, I received a call from Rocio that 6 shirts would be completed and ready for pickup 1/26/2024 at 5pm. I arrived at 4pm to try and figure out why only 6 of my 600 orders of shirts were ready. I spoke to a few of the workers, and they mentioned the shirts were not made there. Rocio arrived 20 minutes later, had a brief meeting, and left. She then came back at 5pm and we had our meeting. She showed us the 6 shirts which had been in the back of her car the entire time. Which was weird as she could of given me these sooner. None the less, we reviewed the samples, and the fabric was wrong, of poor quality, see through, and not the color I had spent $10,000 picking out. After asking about the printer, she said they were “not reachable, no address, and located in DTLA.” I explained she had 8 months to correct this issue, and the “printers” had many months of hand printing to see that the fabric was the wrong fabric. She denied everything and seemed completely lost.

She would not call the printer, not take responsibility for the mistake, and kept saying “OK I Understand.” I asked to see the physical product of my 600 shirts, and she said they are at the printer. She then said, they cannot be reached, we cannot go there, and they do not take calls. I realized shortly after this was a SCAM. I asked for my money back and she said I have to talk to my partner. I asked her where was he anyway, she said he was in the hospital with his daughter. This excuse was used prior as you already know.
At this point I have 6 shirts that are wrong, $30,000 in savings gone, and no indication of a refund, the correct product, or any help from the supplier. I have had to contact my bank and start a fraud case, as well as local authorities to report a criminal case. Lastly, when I was at the bank handling the fraud paperwork then recognized the company’s name and mentioned they had flagged a $40,000 wire from another client. I truly hope I am the only one who has been duped by this company.

I just had a great meeting with Rocio from the Sewing incubator, she was straight forward and knowledgeable about garment design and the production process. If you’re starting from scratch or ready to go into production she’s the person you should talk too.

Before I met Rocio, I sat down with about 5 different pattern and sample makers. By the time I met her I had lost faith, but she was the only one who saw and believed in my vision. Once the process started, I was so nervous because I had never designed any projects before, but she helped me every single step of the way and her expertise came through with every single piece of advice she gave me. In the end, I'm so glad I listened to every opinion she had related to my garments, because the pieces came out way beyond my expectations. Rocio was great! She spent a lot of time in the FREE consultation . . . working on understanding what our needs and vision were. Unfortunately, our timing on schedules could not be reconciled because we were in a really tight time squeeze. Certainly check Sewing Incubator out if you have an idea or project that needs the input of an industry expert.

Everyone at Unlimited Design Services have been wonderful to work with. Rocio and Heber have done a great job of getting things done well, quickly and on schedule, even during the busy holiday times. I know I am benefiting greatly by working with them. Their experience and skill saves me so much time and improves my product. So far the samples look beautiful, and Rocio quickly and efficiently helped me to improve the design further. I also visited their office today and their facilities are clean and nice looking, just as they are in their pictures.
