Would be perfect but then I got scammed by security. I paid for a day pass parking and still got a ticket. Tried to get it disputed but it got denied by a "third party". Called the security and he said nothing can be done. Good job security πŸ‘

This review is solely about Chabot College admission system and support staff, no opinion on academics.

My son was trying to apply for the school, and the web-portal hit some kind of a bug ("there was an unknown error ... blah-blah...call us at ..."). We called the admissions office and got: "due to unanticipated circumstance we are currently unable to answer your call..."
Then we tried to get help in person. There were two people at the admission desk, but they couldn't help either. Moreover, they were openly offensive, first accusing us of not submitting the application, then giggling openly about "haha, you don't even know your email" when they didn't hear the answer to what's-your-email question.... Hard to tell if they were too stupid to realize that others could hear their comments or too rude to care about others hearing them. Not sure which is worse. Guess, the staff there is the main beneficiary of the communication system being broken, otherwise their bosses would be bombarded with complaints.

Love the campus and online classes at Chabot. Masks are still required in buildings on campus. Visited May 5th for a drop-in counseling session. Only allowed a quick meet during registration period. For more thorough meeting with counselor, need to try back in 2-3 weeks and schedule an appointment with counselor. I love and highly recommend Terri Taylor. She's AWESOME!

A very good community College with knowledgeable professors, a helpful community and good class selection. It has clean facilities as well. Some counselors weren't so caring, but I found that El Centro and just professors you like give solid advice.

Study here since fall 2014, most professors are very nice and generous. Pretty enjoy the study environment that they have. And there are many great programs that you can join such as EOPS and TRIO, I join Trio about a year ago, and I love the university campus visit, counselor visit opportunities so far.

The college is fine but the security here is next to none. How do I know this, because my bike got stolen twice, they literarily when inside the campus and cut all my locks to stole it. So this a warning, don't leave your property unattended for long period of time, especially bike, because it will get taken some day. There a lot of theft and generally bad people in Hayward so stay on the alert at all time. Don't be like me. Here a photo of what can happen.

This is a great community college! I don't understand why this college gets shamed. I feel like the professors and other staff members are friendly. It's affordable compared to a University obviously. This is a great college to go to, to get your general education out of the way as well as your AS-T. I don't regret choosing this college over a University otherwise I would be paying more and not getting the benefits I get at this college. It's never too late to go to college. I enjoyed my journey here and will miss my teachers and the students I built relationships with. Wish all of you luck and never give up your dreams!

* Update: I was quite disappointed that I did not get my honors medallion after I graduated. This message goes to the students who did not receive their medallion at graduation but then received their degree afterwards that says, "Honors". When I went to get my degree, the admissions office checked it and noticed, 'honors' was on my degree. I asked why I never received my medallion and they did not know. I contacted my TRIO counselor Roseby and he contacted the Vice President of the college to make sure I got my medallion. I'm happy I got my honors medallion but I'm disappointed I could not wear it during my graduation. So if you did not receive your honors medallion but have 'honors' on your degree, you are entitled to get your honors medallion because you earned it!*

is just a joke that teachers want to get raise, you can try to call any number of this school at anytime during any day of the week and nobody will answer. email respond is always next day. you will have to drive up to the campus and show up in person if you need help.
