My experience was another better than my original expectations. I had wanted to close my account, but ended up getting a phone and keeping my service all because the employee who helped me was amazing. Her name was Larissa and now my life us a whole lot less stressful

I worked with Larissa the other day and she went above and beyond my expectations with my issue I had which included making it so I didn't have to do the 1hr long phone call with customer support to get my problem resolved and she notified me when she finished. Great job girl keep up the good work.

Switched with promo promising free iPad & $200 gift card. Terms added after regarding no payment problems. Problem was 2 bills & 1st one came with past due?

Next offer was 2 free months & free phone. Today I hear the 2 months credit not applied yet & the free phone not being delivered in 3-5 business days as promised but directing me to a store 20 miles away for some unknown reason. Total bs.

Worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Which is saying something considering I’ve dealt with United Airlines and Roadrunner in the past and they set the bar on the floor. But optimum has taken the challenge and ducked underneath it despite it. Tip, if you want to cancel with slightly less hassle, tell them you’ve moving to an area that they don’t service (I told them I’m moving internationally) and then just keep declining their offers to give you some months free (it’s a lie, they will keep telling you they’ll apply it the following month and it won’t ever show up on your bill, they’re instructed to lie to keep customers), and eventually they will relent. Don’t tell an address or area for them to look up. Just keep the story short and simple “an area they don’t service”. Become a broken record. They’ll eventually disconnect your service. Good luck out there. These guys are kooks.

Just getting a phone number ported to a new location while dropping cable TV took no less than 3 hours on the phone spread over three different phone calls with three different agents. Optimum appears to have significant problems with their internal processes. I'm giving management 1 star, and the customer service people I spoke with 5 stars - so it averages out to three. The customer service people were all polite and really wanted to help - but they all had trouble getting anything done internally. It must be terribly frustrating to work for this company!

Installation is fine. Internet is fine. But when you want to disconnect because you’re leaving the area….good frickin luck! Optimum does nothing but send you in circles between the retention call center and the store and yet neither of them can help you fully. Spent way too much time trying to retain a customer that’s moving out of your service area…I don’t want your deals I want to disconnect my service because I’m moving to another state. Would say you’ll have a better time with AT&T. At least they can actually help you at when you go to the store.

Devon was awesome. He showed up promptly, was very knowledgeable and fixed the port that was blown out immediately. I was in the middle of teleconferences, and he got me up and running in no time. I would highly recommend him!

If I could give zero stars I would. 🙁

I have had the worst experience with this company. Months ago, someone used my address on accident to create an Optimum account. Without any notice, internet was installed there and mine was cancelled. I was then getting two bills and it took me a while to figure out what had happened, all while having no internet at my apartment. After months, and long hold times and hours on the phone with agents, it was finally somewhat figured out. I still had two accounts but at least I was getting one bill again.

After that struggle I decided to cancel my account completely. The amount of time I needed to put in just to cancel my account was unbelievable. Hours and hours on the phone with several agents, maybe four or five people who kept passing me off to someone else. I was promised, due to my troubles, I would not have to pay any further and I would be getting a $100 check in the mail. I was so relieved until I got a bill in the mail for services that I no longer have. No check.

I just chatted with customer service for an hour and they said there is nothing they can do, the facts are the facts. I am not sure where to go from here. Do I just pay the bill and move on or fight for what was promised? Optimum has wasted my time and I am feeling defeated. I will not recommend this service to anyone and will not be getting Optimum again.
